Also honestly the stream was so short and quick it felt a bit disrespectful lmao! The Nintendo Indie Direct streams seem like they're produced better.

^ I know it's money money money but why the fuck can't they just release all as one package and why is digital missing the lower tier stuff?!

This also doesn't look anything special and especially for Sonic 3 and Knuckles it's still going to be a hard sell to pull people away from the ever so awesome Sonic 3 mod on steam: https://sonic3air.org/

The animated scenes look good though, I'll give them that.

edit: nevermind, maybe. But I just examined the chart again and it looks like the middle stuff are extras you can spice up the game with. But still ...

Also that some of the games are already available in some form or another on some platforms. The only 'actual' thing in this package of interest is it's the Taxman ports of 1/2/CD, the former 2 of which haven't been published outside of smart phones iirc, and one of the teams that worked on Mania doing a port of S3 to match the Taxman releases, so this package isn't just 3mb in Genesis roms with a 500mb frontend.

Them asking $40 for the package is absolutely laughable though.

Ah, I assumed the Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 on steam were also taxman's release! I didn't know this. I knew S3 had the Michael Jackson troubles so a taxman redo was never available until now, so I would be curious to see if they circumvented it or would they stick to the original sounds. Also definitely curious to see what improvements/changes would be in store for Sonic 3. Agree that the entire package is way too costly.

I'm also excited to see another classic Sonic game added for speedrunning, especially if the changes are significant enough to make a run more interesting (specifically I guess I mean for Sonic 3, I doubt the other games would get much of a touch up or it'll cause a little rift between the mobile releases)

I like the 3D model of the island that you see on the last boss of Knuckles run:

Quite nostalgic to see it but yet it looks nice and true to the original, I find it cute you can see some of the zones on it too. Original below (enlarged):

Hoping the in game currency isn't bullshit and earnable through doing activities (whyyyyyyyyyyy). Though with the recent weird fuck ups (Chocobo GP etc) I won't be surprised if some of it is locked behind some tedious bullshit lol
