alright finished up today capping Gna, much easier than Sigrid in 2018, someone did a no hit run after she killed me for 90 straight minutes. hardest fight in the game for me was the 3 berserker fight lord jesus they killed my ass three dozen times. didn't get all the flowers or ravens but otherwise did urrathang, 59 hours on GMGOW. improved on 2018 in a lot of ways mechanically, narrative got a little convoluted but characterization remained mint and the arcs were increíble. did well exploring the dynamics of the Norse pantheon family, callbacks were terrific, Sindri and Brok stole the show for much of it, and this (temporary) ending for Kratos is a moving bit of storytelling after following him since God of War 1.
4.5/5 moving redemption arcs juxtaposed with moving murder arcs. if only she didn't come out the year of Elden Ring.
I spent over an hour banging my head against the 3 berserkers fight. Screw that for now. Last time I got so frustrated was either Elden Ring or Returnal :D
Just finished the game so looking through this thread. This fight sucked balls, but my focus was on the main and keeping the sisters in view and trying to group them up when I had a good runic to use on all 3. Sisters got ape-shit mode once the main one does with a new move and spamming their other crap. Was able to finally do it without a rez stone but had to use the armor that utilizes your rage as a 2nd health bar and some realm shift gear.
Fucking awesome game, loved every second of it and going back in to finish up the zerks and Gna and stuff you can't do until after the ending.
Gna was a great fight, little arc between her and Freya was kind of touching
Wow has nobody checked out the DLC? I just started it today.
It's actually fucking great that have made me go "oh shit" a couple of times and I essentially just started it.
Go check it out. Lots of great content in it. It's not some tacked on bullshit. It's beefy. Sony Santa Monica huge bro move here. They easily could have charged $10 for this if not more.
played through it, it was enjoyable. big flex by santa monica putting this out for free
I was not even aware there was DLC
interesting
surprise drop announced at Game Awards. not terribly long and no spoilers but one of them true love letters to fans of the franchise. play asap imo. what Santa Monica has done with this franchise is something else (and i liked this franchise before they decided, what if we made two of the better games ever).
absolutely not saying they SHOULD have charged for this but it's wild that Sony would try to make Naughty Dog transition into a live service model for TLOU to increase profits from their singleplayer/narrative games, but then just give this away
I’d like to state for the record I appreciate the irony of God of War: Ragnarok having its DLC be called Valhalla while Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla had DLC called Ragnarok
alright haven’t played this game in forever, time to jump into the dlc on the highest difficulty
You only have a couple days to master it before FFXI free play comes back
getting my ass kicked but slowly progressing
Alright one boss fight got me tilted for the first time in the DLC
Spoiler: show
Alright got over my initial tilting and finished it. For being a free DLC this felt pretty beefy, good shit. Idk if I see myself going back to play it much after finishing but I enjoyed it a lot.
PC version coming September 19th, requires a PSN account
