I'm hitting a bit of a wall leveling in the mid-20's. Is the best bet to go back and make sure I'm getting 10 captures of each pal?
Yeah, capturing pals is the fastest exp by a significant margin. Boss killing isn't bad but it's impossible to compete with chain catching pals since the 1-10 bonus exp is percentage based.
Hit level 32 last night, found Assault Rifle and Shotgun schematics (high level recipes). Can't do anything with it until level 35 or so though because of the material requirements. So it's time to start preparing for coal farming to make refined ingots. Is it worth it making a coal only base? Or are there items I'll have more urgent need for later? With only being able to have 3 bases I should probably get this sorted out soon.
that's everyone though. the progression is:
- crap faux-starter "base" the tutorial has you build, probably on the starting hill
- first real base, better location and still massively unorganized as you don't know where to put everything yet
- second base for materials grinding (you are here)
- first REAL real base now that you can fly and actually scout and also know what you need, how to organize work stations, etc.
I might move my secondary base, it's just an ore hub with a few mining pals. that coal and ore site sounds dope
thanks for the replies re: leather, sounds like most of the drop-only items just kinda suck. at least you can farm their elemental organs
For leather and elemental organs I've had fairly good luck running through low level areas on the Eikthyrdeer. His charge attack will usually 1-shot the pals and makes traversal a good deal quicker. His attacks are faster and better than anything else I've tried. The shotgun blast is also decent for getting the attention of something running away.
Pal Fluid is just unfortunate. But I can run the coasts killing water mons for a little bit for an ok amount.
Ideally they update it to be farmable with the ranch. At the same time though I don't want to be at the base forever, so whatever. Might be better with a monster that has +to drops from water mons.
Do Pals who have bad status effects (Ulcers, Depressions, Weakened etc) ever heal from being in the box or do they have to have meds? I've gotten way too many symptoms to manually make meds and then apply to them anytime I log back onto the game.
So looks like the stolen model accusations didn't really hold up. But after seeing Asomongold's retarded take on this and the general feel coming from the defenders that they would still be defending them if there was empirical evidence I hope Nintendo cleans their clock.

I mean, to be fair Asmongold put it in a profoundly stupid way, but he wasn't wrong, the deciding factor of if people are for or against A.I Generative art is whether the consumer will pay for it, not the feelings of the Artists that feel like they're being replaced.
Different forms of Automation will always inevitably make people obsolete, happened in manufacturing/automotive industries, happened to certain desk jobs, and will happen for sure to other tech fields, the only industry I see atm the aren't currently at the mercy are skilled trades, until they make robots to go to peoples houses to replace plumbers, electricians etc then those people will still be working.
That all being said I feel that automation is eventually to the benefit of everyone, if ALL the jobs get automated, how does the government think people are going to earn money to pay taxes and such, at such a point money itself becomes meaningless, if robots/A.I/Whatever is responsible for all the means of production, then it leaves people free from the burden of having to work those jobs, either entire new industries will be required to keep everyone employed or we have to understand that most of the population are just not required to work anymore.
Will it suck in the interim while jobs are made obsolete and yet people are still required to earn money to pay for shit? Hell yes, is it in the best interest of the greater whole to halt progress? Not in the least.
You hope Nintendo cleans the clock of people that have fuck and all to do with Pokemon models, which anyone that has spent 5 minutes in blender already knew?
Lol, alright. Also Fuck Asmongold.
My second base was already there, but the video had some great optimizations and while I had a pseudo second story building going, I tore it down, rebuilt it, and now the bottom is a refinery/storage area and the roof is a manufacturing and storage station. Building the multiple boxes around the area for my Anubis farmers was the real key and they "help" build from the ground as the game, like so many others, don't take into account height when calculating distance for Pals. Also, building foundations around the edge of your circle helps keep Pals from falling down or spawning in an area they can't path from.
Spoiler: show
My original base is more for farming and ranching now, and I can currently sustain and grow a Salad food supply. I can breed Petalias with the Artisan trait, which will eventually let me breed Lyleen with it to super-charge the farm for other bases. Just need a Sulpher base and I'll really not need to go resource hunting again.
oh I just assumed sulfur was caves-only. I assume it spawns in the hot area? I haven't been there yet, still exploring
I'm working on making a base at this spot and it's working really well for me so far. Hopefully will get even better as I get the more efficient pals in place. Haven't had many cases of a pal getting hopelessly lost or stuck at this location yet but I guess it wouldn't hurt to put foundations around the edges to make sure.
Honestly Sulphur is only for Gunpowder that I’ve seen and ammo is cheap enough just to buy from the merchants for me as it is.
I realized part of my issues with pals being mad is that they manage to get outside my walls but unable to get back in so are stuck there for long periods when I am offline. Guess I am leaving my doors open until they fix these pathing issues
