A leftist could absolutely get elected in a general election, a leftist could never win a Democratic primary.

I think this theory is unproven but seems right. Highly engaged Democratic voters determine the primary candidate and are also the only population in our electoral system that cares about policy. Because they care about policy, they overestimate how much genpop cares about policy and self-moderate.

In reality, I think current Republican voters do not care about policy at all and the classic "would I have a beer with this guy" question really rules the day, which is a bar that a fascist has cleared, let alone a leftist.

Nah, Hilary was trash, Joe was ok for the time and Kamala couldn't even get past the primaries in 2020. She started off strong and had momentum and then lost it all by hard leaning to get centrist/right votes (which worked out wonderfully). I like how "perfect" is just a canidate who isn't a fucking shill for Israel and billionaires, has a plan for the working class (again not a shill for billionaires) and doesn't keep up GoP pace of deportations and border control. "Good" isn't enough and there's a large gap between that and perfect lol.

Joe had a fucking pandemic that destroyed shit and was horribly mismanaged to drag Trump down and still barely got AZ, Wisconsin and GA...

It's been going on. Started right after Trump won in 2024. The internet leftist are the worst. They jerk themselves off to theory and who they say they dont want as candidates but then they dont have any examples of good candidates or people to vote for. They never suggest running themselves for any of these positions or in any elections because all elections are corrupt and voting doesn't matter since both parties are the same.
