Besides this a few Hololive members cancelled their streams for today. Even hit the EN ones where so far Baelz/Calli said they're holding off today and I'm sure a few others will as well.
Especially then, actually; as I said, I think it's cruel to come crashing down entirely so easily, but yes, it's still entertaining to a certain degree, even if I do feel sorry for them at times. Granted, though, this doesn't really go for the celebrities that earned their fame by being douches.
On the other hand, I'm not really involved in the world of (Virtual) Youtubers, streamers and the like and I don't get the appeal, but that makes it more difficult to figure out what's going on when something does happen and most of the time half the fun boils down to hordes of fans imploding because the obviously fake online persona they supported is not the person's actual one even if I have no idea who they're even talking about. I mean, just imagine they're actors and perhaps you'll get over it without a broken heart.
A bunch of uwu's behind an animated avatar ain't for me, but I don't go into their house and mess things up. If people like them, so be it. If they can buy a mansion or two off of it, all the better to them. All of that stuff started from the idol industry, though, and I detest that because of the rampant abuse of the women involved in it. Rampant abuse of women is as common in this world as breathing, however, so I know I'm powerless to do anything about it.
Okay I derped with the Rushia bit about her using the model/rig for personal use. Apparently Cover terminated their contract due to her leaking information and misinformation. It's still developing but some of the stuff that came up was her accidentally exposing the RL names of some Hololive staff when she sent a screencap to prove her innocence during the MafuMafu drama to someone who is described as the "Japanese Keemstar" when he made a vid about it. She's also claiming she was bullied by her "senpais" and overlapping her time slot frequently.
If true it's definitely looking worse for her.
There's over 30 JP hololive members. Add in 6 more for ID, 3 more for EN who are in or around the JP timezone. So overlap is definitely gonna happen. Whether certain ones deliberately bullied or targeted her? Welp, who knows, I'm not hardcore enough to deep dive into looking into that.
The Korekore (the JP Keemster doode) shit is legit though AFAIK. The doode made a video and showed screenshots (that he censored and blanked out names, but regardless, she broke her NDA by sharing that shit with him) that you can find with subtitles if you look.
She (Rushia) already has a new personal youtube channel up and going (no vids yet) with like 350k subs already lol so yeah I think she'll be fine. Senchou saying "we did everything we could to help her but it got too big for us" kind of says it all

Google has demonetized RT's YouTube channel and has blocked Russian media as a whole from running ads across Google's platforms. The videos already available will get less exposure across suggested watching and have been banned completely in Ukraine. RT had been making as much as ~$32M in ad revenue.
stpeach and her glorious ass caught a ban, nsfw clip obviously

And more Hololive drama. Nene was caught tracing artwork (which is a huge deal in Japan) with both her and Cover issuing a public apology. She's also doing an apology stream about 40 min from the time of this post.
Will be interesting to see how this unfolds. Usually when someone gets caught/admits to tracing people will go over their older work to find proof of tracing and sadly they usually find it.
Based on just the reactions on Twitter to the formal announcement, this one doesn't seem overly bad; at least the responses seem to tend towards a slap on the wrist and a promise to do better in the future if even that; stark contrast to others where they practically demand a head on a pike. Kind of boring, to be honest, at least if you're looking for drama, but would probably depend on what else happens and if anything is found that the initial explanation does not quite manager to cover.

From what I've read it's a big nothingburger. They already talked to the original author and everything has been cleared up. The apology was more of a formality
Ah that's good to know. I didn't get a chance to see it since it was way too late when she streamed and I felt like crap and had to deal with a bit of a project today. Though yeah I know tracing drama can be an ugly can of worms. Between the people that support/against it and then bringing the person in question's previous works to light to see if they had any other traces it can turn messy fast.
Alanah Pearce heavily implies, without naming names, that Adam Kovic removed and changed the password to Funhuas' Steam game review account when he departed the studio. It was a skeleton key-like account that was presumed to be a holdover from Machinima that made every game on Steam free to access. The accusation is made around 13:05.

Not sure of a better place to put this.
I dunno whether to put this in this thread or the Hollywood sexual assault thread, but shit got real at the Oscars, holy shit lol

Edit: And he (Will Smith) just won the Oscar for best actor, dang lol
The joke was a GI Jane 2 reference about Jada.
Pinkett Smith’s short hair is as a result of alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that she has been public about battling.Jada, I love ya. GI Joe 2, can’t wait to see it,

damn if that's a work its a good one
According to twitter, this entire show has been filled to the brim with cringe and awkward moments lol
He was at the rehearsals and didn't say shit then. I've seen people say there's a clip of him laughing at the joke and Jada gives him a death stare.
