I know about it, they're pushing out a update soon instead of this merry go round of updating filters and then Youtube retaliates and breaks the filter. TWICE a day, and after a filter break the cycle repeats. Been doing this for a week or so. /punt Youtube let me watch in peace mmkay?

If you wanna know if Ublock Origin's working, this is the site to check. The guys that do uBO seriously are CHAMPS. Hopefully we won't be on this treadmill soon. Oh and no pestering the uBO folks, there's been a lot of user mad and it drove one poor guy away from the project. Don't be that mad user, this is out of their control and they have just been having to (to add a gaming ref) pick up a spear and stab this problem to death multiple times, but this youtube problem won't STAY dead.

NP outlaw and amen to that. Glad to have been able to explain wtf has been going on. As of right now the filters in uBO haven't broken yet today so maybe Youtube finally gave up heh. but don't count on it.

Also if you're running uBO and still getting Youtube ads, check the reddit for the pinned thread. Won't direct link that since they do a new one every week, but you'll get what to do about it there.

So okay. Youtube broke the filter again so it's not safe to play on youtube for a while unless you want the popups ><. (that's how they break it.)

Seems this time Youtube waited a good long time to kill Ublock Origin, anyway give the programmers/filter writers time to give this the stabby. Again. And don't get mayd, that doesn't help it get here any faster.

Still OK here, uBlock on Firefox. I'm using a few filter lines from Reddit that fixed me up a couple updates ago. Paste into the My Filters area of uBlock's settings, purge all cache, close and reopen browser.

There is literally no situation in which I would ever consider defending google, but if you're talking about that reddit post then the price was for a family plan, in AUD$, and included 30% extra for being on IOS. Just wanted to add some much-needed context. Fuck Google anyway.

In no world am I paying Google for YT so I can be constantly recommended nazi videos as "This might interest you!" after watching a video on D4 builds or a critique of a movie. TsingTao: No need, I just didn't watch Youtube until they updated it. They even say don't bother adding custom filters; eventually if you don't force update the Ublock Quick Fixes filters or have them update it will eventually block you from watching at all, even with those custom filters. Stick with the official ones.

Because they make a new thread every week for this, check the reddit for directions. Also, keep a eye on this, as I said earlier. Seems tho since they raised the price, they have found that this isn't working very well..

Ah fuck... I absolutely believe he had no idea what was happening at first, but when he found out (be it 2022, or whenever), he should have put a stop to any and all future promotion of the event until it got sorted out. He went on to have at least one more Indieland event after finding out, by his own admission... That said, they still have the money. Even if they can't save their reputation, they can still make good on donating what they've gotten so far, which is something I guess.

My initial thought was that someone else was (mis)handling the money and that he was just the public face, but the more that was revealed the worse he looked... I'm not gonna make any judgments based on the snippets of the discord call that were shared, but I will admit it sure doesn't help his case. Man... If you'd asked me if there was one YouTuber that I thought would never be involved in shady shit like this, I'd have said Jirard without any hesitation... Now nothing would surprise me.
