From my understanding, it's an end game uber boss. Like Melania from Elden Ring, so she undeniably has some skill in the game. It's just she so obviously cheated, it wasn't even funny. Right down to her self owning herself that she had a third hidden monitor when she replied to a twitch chat question when there was covers over both her visible screens.

I've only seen one blindfolded boss run and it was someone fighting Mike Tyson at the end of Punch-Out with his back turned to the screen. LOTS of comments speculating there was a mirror (in which case he still would have had to learn to fight him backwards, which is equally impressive).

Ironically, Summoning Salt released a video on the history of blindfolded Mario 64 Speed runs like two days after this whole thing exploded.

Just while temporarily on the topic of blindfolded speedruns, a memorable one for me on a favourite game of mine, Castlevania Symphony of the Night:



I won't spoil it but something particularly happens during it and it's really quite funny to the point where the runner actually needed help. The runner and couch is also very good at explaining and there's minimal to no donation messages, it's complete joy.

people have done blindfold runs of nes/snes punchouts at GDQs if you’re interested. can’t really fake it with a live audience

Given Warner's involvement I'm not surprised but Rooster Teeth as a company is shutting down. For the time being their podcast branch will continue and be shopped around, but yeah. Oof.

I'm on the blue side in government and it's always hiring up folks but 9 out of 10 are for ISSO positions going to idiots who passed the CISSP but have never actually touched a computer and only know how to make spreadsheets and check of boxes.

my daughter is having the same issue. the tech company she worked cybersecurity at imploded due to the CEO and CFO basically stealing a giant pile of investor cash. it was a giant shit sandwich and it dumped a bunch of techs into our area, *then* everyone else started laying folks off. if you've got any leads i can pass on, please DM me.

If you have a good sysadmin/IT background then blue teaming is pretty easy to get into and I actually like it more then red teaming though it isn't nearly as cool haha

Haha. That's what my local IT community recommends, and i definitely see it. I went to my first DEFCON last year and the Red Team village line for entry was LOOOOONG. So many people want to be on the "cool" team. It's a thing.

My job since I have started has involved a lot of security related stuff as we don't have a dedicated internal security team. I realized I do not like cybersecurity. It isn't for me. I will stick to networking thank you. Yes I know that security is very networking adjacent which is why I got stuck with the security stuff. Luckily we recently onboarded with Sophos MDR so now I will just fill the roll of vendor management/relations as the primary point of contact when there is an issue. I just don't like investigating every single little bit of suspicious network activity and realizing it was just a piece of software updating and the update server has a weird url. It is so tedious.

Honestly I don't know why everyone in IT these days seems to want to go into cybersecurity. What do you guys enjoy about cybersecurity?

Money and not having to deal with lots of people face to face, the same reason most people go into IT or tech in general
