Yeah I am in IT. I guess generally cybersecurity is slightly higher than networking but it generally requires more interactions with people in my experience. My personal preference is that cybersecurity is so boring it isn't worth the extra money but maybe I haven't experienced the fun part of it.

don't some companies that specialize in consultation have Red Teams that basically get to act as spies and sneak into companies that hire them to find vulnerabilities or try to get access? I'm sure getting to live out spy fantasies is a plus for some people as well lol

I think the really sweet deal right now is InfoSec if you can get it. Google an InfoSec policy, send it out and declare it the new policy, and then reject every request for leniency. Can just set up a "No" auto reply and start applying to the next job.

Guess this fits best here. Andrew Tate and his brother got arrested after their friend Adin Ross blabbed on Twitch that Andrew told him he was leaving Romania and probably never coming back after the UK issued an arrest warrant for him.

    They've been released.

Romania has ruled that the brothers can be extradited to the UK after their trial ends.

Ill comment on this and a couple others since I work infosec.

It depends on the branch of cybersec. Like most of IT it encompasses a ton and some are way more "management and dealing with people day to day" and others are not at all. Doing blue team stuff you're going to have people specializing in networking security, hardware physical security and user/system level security. Also have people who are designing a lot of it and making it all work to meet stuff and then others who are doing day to day upkeep or keeping track of scans, soc alerts etc etc.

don't some companies that specialize in consultation have Red Teams that basically get to act as spies and sneak into companies that hire them to find vulnerabilities or try to get access? I'm sure getting to live out spy fantasies is a plus for some people as well lol
Typically specialized for doing this type of stuff and social engineering on prem and it all depends 100% on what the company wants. Very often you'll be tasked with testing security of a company but the "rules of engagement" will prevent you from doing any social engineering of any type, and also not allowing you to attempt to break into 90% of the systems in order to prevent possible data loss or down time.

Other times you're actually given the keys to get in right away and you're doing all of your testing from the inside. My fave time is when auditors are given scan results of scans run as a root user on a system with username/password and pretend as if it's all actually exposed to the outside because of this. Like "well yeah, if you had admin creds on the system you WOULD Be able to do a lot of bad shit...that's why we don't give them out"

I think the really sweet deal right now is InfoSec if you can get it. Google an InfoSec policy, send it out and declare it the new policy, and then reject every request for leniency. Can just set up a "No" auto reply and start applying to the next job.
You're pretty beholden to a lot of stuff already, NIST 800-53 framework guides pretty much all govvie stuff. Then you have HIPPA, PCI DSS and other frameworks per what your company may be doing. On top of that you then toss in the "interpretations" of your group on those frameworks, or map more of the frameworks depending on your company scale. NIST 800-53 has low/medium/high mapping and then goes beyond to things that require TS/SC poly stuff.

So apparently FF7Rebirth videos are getting a bunch of copyright strikes and Youtube is being useless about it. Maximilian_dood goes over it from 15min-40min of this vod: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2087477...=all&sort=time

Their entire copyright system is trash since attempts to verify come after the accused are hit and cut off. So, basically anyone with a grudge could troll a person/channel. Pragmatically, anyone that cares to enforce personal copyrights should have to offer up whatever data to feed their bots that processes through a video during the upload process, and if it hits, tell the uploader before posting to see if they can refute it under fair use. People that do remixes or other lightly transformative work should not have a say if a user passes a check from the original owner. Overall, unless you're a big streamer, the odds of youtube acting in your favor are fucking non-existent. Demonetized videos shouldn't have to run ads, either.

But that's just me wanting to favor creators that make these platforms worth a damn instead of Google, Amazon, etc..

i don't understand why someone hasn't used YT's own dumbass system to illustrate how stupid it is by mass copyright striking popular content.

On a related topic, I hate the modern web so much especially now that 5 companies control all the content.

Here's a chart of all the DMCA takedown requests I had to handle for BG since 2012:

The majority of them were bullshit claims that take at least a month to clear.

I'm assuming that huge jump in 2017 was the site that shall not be named?
