I have learned to appreciate many kinds of art, some of which was initially repellant to me. However, I think I will never be able to make myself try to understand streaming. Every part of it seems bad / unenjoyable/ low quality and some of it seems pretty inhumane.

I brought this up before but pet cams are a huge part of the streamer meta right now. It's certainly weird to force your dog to stay in the spot while you stream all day.

She's been part of his stream and around him for years since he got her and lots of times she's out for walks and other stuff. Tons of vids of him playing with her and doing dog voice around her which is a huge tell for someone who actually loves their dog or other dogs. Also it's amazing shit shit has gotten more attention then Kristi fucking Noem blowing her puppies brains out and dumping it into a pit. I guess Hasan should have shanked Kaya live on stream so he could get an appointment in the administration.

Theres a mountain of difference between "The dog enjoys being around you and you like being around it" and "While I'm on stream it has to stay in frame or its gets punished". Like how did you fully write out "He said the dog is free to roam when hes not streaming!" without realizing how psychotic that sounds?

It is still VERY normal to do that, but it is not a good way of training. Lots of trainers still adhere to the alpha/Cesar Malan way of doing shit that's been proven to not work properly.

She's not on stream ALL the time either lol....she goes for walks and shit. it's not fucking hard to find clips of her there and not there...also dogs love being around their owners too. It's hilarious to be getting this bent out of shape over "perceived" issues. The dude got his huge ass dog trained by a professional trainer which is a great thing to do with his reasoning being something around not wanting an untrained mini grizzly bear which is spot on.

Given the majority of streams are people who can just grab the cheapest camera and microphone possible, a lack of production quality is more the norm than exception. From there, it tends to diverge into interactive podcast or people gaming together with the internet as one big couch. If you're not super interested in either, then yeah, shit's gonna be boring. Especially if the streamer has zero charisma (or a pair of titties in your face). There are still interesting subsets of the medium, like the music and art categories, or one might even look to vtubing to keep tabs on advances in digital puppetry, but since most things are just going to be unscripted improv unless you're a big name who can actually afford something akin to a creative team, it usually just boils down to who you vibe with.

I tend to watch streams more than live TV these days between the interactivity angle and the fact the latter honestly kinda majorly sucks with what's out there and ease of (legal) accessibility. Despite my doubt of the accusers than defense of Hasan, I don't watch him or frankly anyone who tends to have more than 1000 concurrent viewers. There is a point where interactivity dies and you just become a string of text in the void. Some may accuse me of being parasocial, but there are also streamers who want to build their community in the literal sense and not in the "please sub so I don't have to work a normal job" kind of way that treats you more as a money source than a person. It also really sucks when the former transitions into the latter if they turn out to start growing.

That said, I don't think it's a matter of being too old. It's just not finding the right person to watch. And twitch doesn't make that easy.

IDK how any of this involves Palestine or Israel. I'm just here cause I saw dude hit a switch off screen and his dog jump scared, at the same time he anticipated the scare cause he clearly wasn't startled by it like everyone watching the video was. Seems pretty suspect, especially when he could just show the back of his dog collar up close and prove it isn't a shock collar.

Like c'mon, kinda sus that everyone can see odd marking behind the collar, hit the gain and see electrical tape, and he isn't like "alright look closely at this collar. It can not shock a thing." I delete and recreate my Xitter account periodically because I only use it to follow meteorology and weather forecasting. A few months of literally nothing but that eventually still results in a bunch of far right stuff popping up. That's when it's time to cut it loose.

It is still unfortunately the far and away best place for that, can't give it up until they decide to migrate elsewhere. Only a small percentage use bsky.
