AI Slop now accounts for 20% of the content on YouTube. South Korea consumes the most, while India is the lead producer (they also having the highest earning channel with $4.25M).

The fact Shorts automatically start to play when I open up the app on my phone is sooooo fucking annoying. And AI slop is starting to get thrown in there. I can't even enjoy people doing cool shit anymore because AI has started to take over in that department.

Starting a fresh account on youtube also pretty much pushes AI shorts onto you immediately. And some of the shorts are just political/race ragebait.

The fact your browser/app sends a "micro-view" to your algorithm the moment you stare at something for more than 2 secs and then a "mini-view" if you stare more than 10 secs shows how predatory these platforms have become.

Once you notice every viral clip uses these metrics to get your attention for 2 or 10 seconds, it makes you realize how uncanny and artificial this whole thing is.

Anyway, fuck any kind of platform that doesn't allow you to use a follow/subscribe only mode.

YouTube is in the process of removing user-generated subs (SRV3)

With YouTube having such a global reach, plenty of creators have used subtitles and dubbing to make their videos easier to watch in different countries. This has seen some launching wholly separate channels just for the subtitles and language dubs.

YouTube does generate subtitles on videos in a number of languages, but it can get a little funky with mistranslations and not being able to keep up with the speed of a video. This has seen numerous creators use custom subtitles.

Not only do these custom subtitles allow for better translations, but they’ve also been used to jazz up music videos for the likes of Hololive and other VTubers.

Thought this was already done when the US Canada subtitles option was nuked. T4S used that language subtitles for their more humorous take, versus the regular English subtitles being 100% accurate.
