Wonder if the renegade chozo are the ones that took her armor. Seems weird in the first trailer she was in her normal armor but after the crash she was in the blue armor which now that I think about it does look like her regular power suit but stripped down.

We know that they're the military cast that overthrew the Senate/Space Council, as based on the secret ending of Samus Returns.
I am so fucking hype to finally be fighting actual Chozo, and the military elite, no less. This game is looking fucking nutty.
I hope the Chozo are back because they're finally sick of the Galactic Federation fucking around with all of their sexy lost tech. I'd team up with them, as the Federation is corrupt as hell anyway.

Never played Metroid Returns. When I get groceries/supplies tonight after work I should swing by their revamped video game aisles to see if they have any 3DS games and if it's in there.

I think theres potential for that not to be Chozo, because the reaction Samus had to it looked similar to the dead-eyed SA-X. That said, this game basically starting to look like "Everyone Wants To Kill Samus" fits really well into the Dread theme.

Wasn’t the Chozo extinct? Why is Kraid still alive? Is Samus still all fused up with the Metroid or is this a prequel?

As for Kraid being alive. My guess is since the X Parasite is being hinted at returning as well I'm guessing they replicated him.
