Having had some time to think about it... While I may not be thrilled about Hangman's first defense going to time limit draw, I think it's great for the story. The Anxious Millennial Champion couldn't put away The American Dragon. On this night, he just wasn't good enough. Danielson is now living comfortably and rent-free inside Page's head. I can't wait to see the rematch.

I get that the show tonight is supposed to be a big deal.

I get that both stars in the match are HUGE: one being an AEW original and one being one of WWE’s biggest stars during their time.

I get that there’s a big chunk of the fan base that is just absolutely rabid for long, drawn out matches.

But COME ON PEOPLE! That match was some unbelievable, self-indulgent nonsense. I don’t care how “resilient” and “passionate” your face is, they shouldn’t be able to sustain that much of an ass kicking and still have the match go on.

It was clear from the start that the match was a part of a bigger story, and to have it on free TV was a dead giveaway that things weren’t going to be perfect, but still. Don’t drag us along and waste our time like that when the writing’s already on the wall. We’re all busy people, we’ve got places to do, people to see, and not just have to watch one star try to rub their own precious ego.

If AEW wants to be taken seriously as a company, they cannot be having matches drag on endlessly like this.

So anyway, that’s why I think Shawn Spears was right and Wardlow should have finished Matt Sydal off sooner.

More details on Kevin Owen's contract. There is no "no-cut" policy, but he's also being paid 2-3 million a year. So he's probably not going to shed too many tears if he gets future endeavored.

Honestly I'd expect something like that to happen since they've also been obvious that Bobby Fish is not part of the elite and have been leaving him out to dry/eat the pin a few times already.

But... the Bucks and Kenny outright murdered Cole in BTE canon and he's still cool with them, so we'll see.
