there's no evidence putting a mask on when passing strangers in close proximity poses a greater contamination risk than leaving it off. in either case the risk should be extremely low as the time spent near them is miniscule and the particulate dispersion you refer to ensures that unless they are actively coughing on you very few if any particles are floating into and onto you. personally when out hiking and passing folk i simply turn my head away from them so any conceivable particulates are shooting off elsewhere.

Touching is a huge nothing burger with covid at least, since fomite transmission of the virus is known to be basically nil re: studies from most of early/mid 2020. Glad it happened though cuz it made places actually start caring about wiping down surfaces for once.

The whole "don't touch your face!!!" from early 2020 is, while obviously good hygiene in general, not really related to transmission

Sister tested positive last weekend. Mrs and I took a PCR test Sunday as her and my sister work together. Negative. Now she's feeling tired, that cloudy headed feeling, achy, etc. Also another co-worker of theirs popped hot. Getting tested again in the morning.

When I went to see Spiderman on Friday I think I was the only person in the building with a mask on. But yeah, Texas.
