My guess is it "won't" without that, because the vast majority of the positive cases in kids are gonna be asymptomatic. They already were, but with a milder virus it's going to be overwhelmingly so.

Very curious if it'll rip through my kids' masked school, there's been extremely few school-based transmissions of Delta this past semester.

Omicron's been ripping through Canada where we continue to have to mask up in any public indoor setting.

Tbf if it really is equal or greater than measles in transmissibility nothing is gonna work anymore.

There's a reason that complete vax saturation was the only way to stop measles. And the measles vax is a lot better than COVID's at preventing infection. Way, way better.

I forget if Archi is part of LAUSD, but we do weekly testing here. We’ve only had one time so far where we had to quarantine kids who interacted with other kids. Most of the other quarantines the kids went somewhere or interacted with someone outside of school.

Glendale USD doesn't have mandatory testing but it has on campus opt-in weekly tests, and close contacts of a known case have to remote school for (I think) a week, but can return after 5 days with a negative test. My son had to go remote for 5 days early in the semester because of that, tested clean and returned, no other known cases in his class.

They identified 8 total possible on-site transmissions in the district (of 27k students+staff) in the fall semester.

For a while there I was worried that the lack of kids being eligible for vaccines plus the new contagiousness of delta/omicron was going to hit kids hard and damage Biden's approval even more because of it. Luckily so far it seems like nobody actually cares about kids health, they only care about the price of their chicken nuggies going up 50 cents.

My step dad just had to close his warehouse because all 38 employees, yes, all 38 of them, 100% of them, tested positive.

Man, it's crazy to me that some of you haven't taken a test at all. I think I've taken around 75 rapid tests.

I've taken 3, all 3 of which were in the last 3 months.

WFH combined with a lack of obvious symptoms for the last nearly two years, haven't really seen a reason.

Never taken a test. Might take one later this week since I went to a Raiders game on Sunday which I feel is pretty safe to assume was a massive hot spot.

But if I'm not showing symptoms not gonna bother, I have duty on Saturday but I'll just be hanging out in a room by myself between making rounds outside the buildings.

I take a test weekly at work. Next test is next week Thursday when I get back from PTO. Otherwise I wouldn't bother testing unless I put myself outside my risk comfort zone.
