It's less shocking when you take absolutely zero precautions and arent vaccinated and the people you mix with also take no precautions and arent vaccinated. At that point, it starts looking a lot more inevitable.

I wouldn't consider myself at risk for a cold or flu even with zero precautions for at least 6 months if not longer. Covid too, until now I guess.

You don't have kids do you? When my kids first started going to daycare and kindergarten they brought everything back home and we were sick all the time. Granted it might be different illnesses each time but it felt like we were sick for 6+ months solid when they first started playing with other kids.

We have been open all year, so I guess I'm all for it. I'm gonna take a lot of heat for this, but look, I'm burned out here. Everyone in my immediate family except my mother in law have been triple vaxed. All my kids are vaxed. My ex-wife and all her family are triple vaxed. Having patients and their families tell me I don't know how to treat them and refusing evidenced based medicines has worn my sympathy pretty thin. Open it all up, let darwin do work, and a fill my bank account.

Well, good question. Because of this wonderful thing called science, we can estimate the approximate amount of time, damage, and chronology of an illness based on similar illnesses that have behaved similar ways in the past.

If I'm not being an asshole about it, post-infectious inflammatory reactions are relatively easy to predict because the course is pretty predictable. Cross-reactive antibodies activate your body's humoral immunity, which stimulates an immune response called a Type III response. These antibodies get stuck in tissues, blood vessels, and other areas of the body and continue to activate inflammatory responses locally, which releases cytokines and other things that cause tissue damage.

While in need of peer review, clearly, the presence of these reactions is already pretty well-established in numerous infectious processes (Strep throat, Gonorrhea, Flu, etc) and doesn't really warrant scrutiny beyond "are they connected with COVID-19?"

This just sounds like some fear spreading garbage. Obviously no one wants strep, the flu, gonorrhea, but your original post sounded like catching covid would be a guaranteed life changer, but now you're backing off with "well, we've seen this process with a bunch of other viruses that humans have dealt with long before covid came around".
