Felt cruddy today. My daughter (fully vaccinated, asymptomatic, and positive) has been with me all 10 days of her quarantine.

Just got tested for the first time ever. There's only me and another girl that have never tested positive that work on the covid unit. I had no intention of losing this iron man award.

Yeah, I haven't been sick in 18 months. Routine testing not really necessary....what am I gonna do, infect the covid patients? Co-workers are at the same risk.

My wife works an oncology unit. She's been tested, for obvious reasons.

Yeah fairly standard, my friend's gf is a covid nurse and only tests if symptomatic. Said friend though was asked by his job to test weekly, given his obvious risk of exposure from her.

While you are correct about my not being white, strict Covid testing protocols are pretty standard for everyone on a film/tv set in BC, from talent to crew. For all crew it's like twice a week I think?

The last show I filmed I was tested twice leading up to filming, and then every day I was on set. I think for talent it's mostly because when we're recording we have our masks off so yeah, gonna be a lot more strict.

Albeit I haven't booked in like a month or so so the protocols could be lessened by now given the changes in mandates by the BC gov

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required at indoor bars, wineries, breweries, nightclubs and lounges in Los Angeles County under a forthcoming health order aimed at further armoring the region against the pandemic.

My mother-in-law asked me if I'd prescribe her ivermectin last week. Told her 1. Not my scope of practice. And 2. Hell no. She's always been a hardcore trump supporter with some light conspiracy sprinkled in. We still got along pretty well and loved to bicker, but nothing bad enough to hinder our relationship.

After I told her no, she began to argue with me about safety and efficacy and how she will never get vaccinated because something about bill gates, Georgie Soros, and Anthony fauci. I told her she was a fucking moron that was brainwashed. Like, she would trust me enough to prescribe her drugs but not enough for other medical advice. And she values bullshit she reads on the internet over her son-in-law that actually cares about her and has an advanced degree in healthcare and sees more covid patients than anyone she knows. I lost my cool.

Under the new order, participants and workers at outdoor “mega events” with more than 10,000 attendees will also need to provide proof of vaccination or show that they’ve recently tested negative for coronavirus infection, starting Oct. 7. That requirement is already in place for indoor events of at least 1,000 people.

Exempt will be the Rose Bowl until Pasadena and events in Long Beach until each health department releases their own guidance.

As for the deaths. I guess FL, TX, and all the south has to pick up the slack if CA metro centers continue to have better conditions.
