Im not saying that you are saying its impossible, but it seems like you are acting like it when you could just quarantine like the rest of us do? Your stance is extremely baffling knowing where both of you work and that you see people dying of covid everyday.

Obviously you can do no wrong or self reflect so Ill drop it. I go out of my way to mask up and not give strangers covid cant imagine not doing the bare minimum to try to keep my spouse from getting it and neither of us work in a hospital.

You gave the choice of couch or ventilator. That's not the choice however. We are talking risk mitigation differences that are fractionals of a percent considering both vaccinated and this single family house isn't a sterile field with negative pressure. The better argument here is "why didn't you send her to a hotel for 10 days", because the difference in what you're suggesting we do and what we're doing isn't really a difference.

Or she could have because I have house work to do to sell this house and can't waste 10 days off. Tyche is vaxed, his wife is vaxed with the better vax, and at the moment they're barely home together. What's the issue? We already know the vaxed shed less virus than unvaxed, and vaxed are far less likely to be symptomatic, especially the Derna gang. Y'all just arguing to argue cause you desperately want the doctor to be wrong.

If you haven't been paying attention, nowhere in this country are we gunning for absolutely zero risks. That's just not the goal here. The risks he's taking are absolutely reasonable, and it seems to be working as intended since his wife had tested negative on the PCR for days now.

No. They can work anywhere. In fact, many nurses not at Tyche's level lack basic critical thinking and medical knowledge necessary to stratify risk. I've seen nurses run around who just had COVID and aren't wearing masks because "I've already had it so I'm fine". Like, you don't wear a fucking mask for you, disphit. You wear a mask for your patients who are hopefully wearing masks as well. Same rationale for not getting masks. Absolutely zero thinking. They watched the news and didn't bother to review papers and go "Yea well I heard natural immunity is better than vaccine immunity" said every dumb fucking person ever.

So hospitals ABSOLUTELY will make COVID+ nurses work in all units.

What you're talking about is the difference between a relative risk reduction and an absolute risk reduction, which I think I talked about way earlier in the thread.

Most research papers these days report a relative risk because the number looks nicer (ooh~! a FIFTY PERCENT REDUCTION IN TRANSMISSION) but then you look at the absolute risk and the risk of transmission is already, I dunno, 2% so you're looking at a drop from 2% to 1%. Sure, the relative risk is much lower if he isolated from his wife. When the absolute risk is <1% difference, he's taking a calculated chance that he'd hopefully discussed with his wife.

Does that make it okay? To me? The person who's responsible for the patients who could be exposed? No. But I'm not in a position to judge Tyche because I'm not the one with COVID.
