The read speed of the Blu-Ray drive on the PS5 is at best like 50 MB/s. And since it has to install the entire game to the SSD before launching you'd be stuck waiting on that.

Quick math says that's like... Half an hour since the game is 86 or so GBs

Ok, that makes sense then. For whatever reason, I thought the read/write speed was faster than that.

I know the PS4 game had an atrocious install time (40ish minutes) due to it unpacking the install as it went, since they couldn't fit it onto the 50gb disc otherwise. That shouldn't be the case for this sequel due to BDXL which allows 100gb. It's not trying to cram an update download in the same step by any chance if your internet is slow?

There is just so much shit to do in this game. Did a very small advancement of the story last night, but otherwise I was hunting crystals and doing the times challenges and still upped my completion rate by 6%

I really felt the opposite. There's a lot of spaces in the game that are just there for nods, because they were in the first game, or just because to add space. Then again, I'm not really a fan of Ubisoft-esque map clutter things EVERRRRYWHERE design, so I did appreciate that there wasn't tons of collectibles or anything. A couple of the side stories were pretty cool and touching (won't spoiler, but pigeon man and run-away granddad side quests were pretty stellar and hits in the feels), but like the FNSM app thing felt like it was pretty much an afterthought with very few requests.

Traversal and combat remained super in this game, enjoyed the heavier focus on AOE and taking out mobs quickly, while expanding the stealth aspects to really bump up your capabilities.

Just finished the game today. Platinum trophy as well.

I managed to avoid all spoilers, so was quite happy with the last quarter of the game.

So sets up dlc and spiderman 3 as well.
