Working in a jail myself I've seen this manipulation over and over , especially from male inmates towards female staff of any kind.

I see deputies getting way too comfortable with inmates and professional staff too. I get catcalled daily and ignore it all, I give direct one word answers and never reveal anything personal. Unfortunately people spend so much time in these work environments, often more than their own homes so a little here , a little there..and other inmates do notice.

Still at the end of the day it was her choice to be manipulated and not put an end to it.
I wouldn't be surprised if they got married in secret. Basically can request legal forms to do so and I've seen it and other things that I'll never understand.

You underestimate how stupid sworn staff can be. I've my Captains literally tell me as soon as they became deputies their brains left and the technicians ( my job) kept them from getting hurt.

I've probably saved my deputies' ass more than once just due to the fact I pay attention to every detail. People get lax in positions of power , then again Maybe she was just stupid lol.

Getting positions you don't deserve by factors other than your qualifications for the job, getting lax on said job after years of getting away with smaller things, and ultimately thinking that you're smarter than everyone else around you (and eventually, just everyone period) due to reinforcement bias by working at the same job and moving up the ranks. She was what, an Assistant Director? She probably didn't start out that high.

She was smart, alright. So smart that she's now a corpse.

A NY state corrections officer has been suspended without pay for sharing a meme mocking the victims of the Tops market shooting. There is more disciplines to be handed out as many of his co-workers reacted positively to the post.

The offensive meme shows a photo of a Tops Markets above the words, "Clean up on aisle 3, no wait 4, also on 7, 9, 12 and 13."

Greg Foster punctuated the meme with the comment, "Too soon? This should weed out some FB friends," followed by a laughing emoji.

The meme spurred outrage, particularly as it became apparent the person who shared it was a corrections officer.

In a series of tweets Tuesday afternoon, DOCCS said it was launching an investigation into the meme and would seek further discipline of department employees who engaged with the post.

"The comments made by this correction officer are in violation of multiple department rules and will not be tolerated," the department wrote. "This vile posting does not represent the morals and values of the thousands of staff members in the department."

We're told the investigation focuses on allegations of sexual misconduct by LMPD officers, including former detectives Brett Hankison, Brian Bailey and Pablo Cano.

Hankison was fired in 2020 for his involvement in the raid on Breonna Taylor's apartment. Bailey resigned last year amid an ongoing investigation into allegations of sexual assault. Cano pleaded guilty to multiple sexual misconduct charges and was sentenced to prison in 2019.

According to VICE News, these accusations of helping women avoid charges in exchange for sexual favors aren't isolated cases, but instead a pattern that has been described as "the deal."
