41 DUI arrests made by a Bedford County, TN Highway Patrol trooper have been dismissed after it was discovered that 22 of those were completely sober. The trooper, Asa Pearl, resigned in 2024 without a reason given.
In eight cases, including LaFlamme’s, drivers had neither drugs nor alcohol in their system. In 14 other cases, the driver’s blood alcohol level was within legal limits and no drugs were found.
The remaining 19 dismissed DUI cases were dropped for other reasons, including Pearl being unavailable for court or unable to recall details of the arrests, according to the district attorney’s office. The 22 DUI arrests of sober drivers by a single trooper are the latest discovery in our “Sobering Problem” investigation.
Pearl is the latest trooper discovered who has arrested multiple sober drivers for DUI. By far, data shows the THP has made the most sober DUI arrests in Tennessee.

Kentucky congress is trying to pass a bill that would make it illegal to get within 25 feet of an officer if they're feeling threatened. It has survived the Senate, so far.
So it's a bill to let cops arrest and/or murder anyone they want at any time as long as they're in their field of vision?

Arizona version makes whistles a misdemeanor
It's all part of legislation by Sen. John Kavanagh (R-Fountain Hills) to keep people from preventing the arrest of someone wanted by law enforcement. But less clear are exactly what acts would become a crime under the proposal.
Kavanagh tells Capitol Media Services the aim is to plug a loophole in the law.
"I saw there were people warning people about ICE coming,'' Kavanagh said.
But, he said, none of that is illegal under existing laws which make it illegal to "obstruct'' police, something he said requires someone to physically intercede.
He said it's meant to apply only when someone alerts one or more individuals who they know are being sought by police.
By contrast, Kavanagh said, it wouldn't apply to those who blew a whistle or gave any other warning simply because they saw ICE come down the street.

Teen running away from a shooting gets shot by a cop within a second of the cop seeing him.
Why can't I just indiscriminately murder people

You can, just join ICE.
Just murdered a kid for being black near a crime scene. Jesus christ, its so fucked, cant even imagine running from a dude trying to murder me only to run into a cop, maybe even thinking "Oh thank god someone to help me" then getting murdered by said cop for the crime of being brown near gunfire.
He turned off his body camera and then said there was a gun under the teenager he shot. >.>
Note, that incident with the teen is over a year old at this point. That cop is still employed though the family was awarded 30 mil by the city of San Diego.
Allegedly broken off their secret relationship and was also begging for a different partner.
That footage is pretty ambiguous to me, I dunno if he could fall like that and also intentionally shoot his partner behind him. But he certainly didn't rush to help her afterwards. Just sitting on the stairs for like 90 seconds.
