Well SE did sell off several profitable properties including Tomb Raider to fund their startup, and yeah, it's as bad as you can expect. The company they partnered with for their NFT with an action figure grift even comes with a disclaimer saying if their servers ever go down, you could lose the rights to your NFT.

They are a unique digital identifier on an immutable ledger. Such digital integrity can be used for shipping manifests, medical records, tickets to events, court documents, titles to property, etc without being tampered with or faked.

Why does anything get stolen?

You will have to clarify the instances of what is stolen. An NFT on a Ledger, Trezor, or other cold wallet is safer than your car or even the clothes on your back, from being stolen.

I just explained the very basic gist of it. Where in what I explained is a pyramid scheme? You can turn Tupperware, knives, supplements, makeup, etc into a pyramid scheme or scam and it doesn't inherently make them one. It just sounds bitter at something different that you don't seem to demonstrate an understanding of.

I won't dance around the "I hate NFTs and don't understand how wallets work" thing. However, the "kills the environment" line is heavily overstated to the point you get a line like that which is just factually incorrect. Only PoW that matters in this case is BTC. I would suggest you look into various articles on its energy usage, and where that energy is coming from or would otherwise have gone. As well as comparing the extent of the impact to other phenomena we don't speak that way about.

As an attorney I could see the benefit of NFTs from a chain of title standpoint (much live provenances for fine art), but its also not necessary.
