As long as Vegas doesn't get in, I don't care if it's the Kings or Canucks that makes the playoffs. Though it's silly that the Pacific 3rd might dodge the Avs and Flames in the first round despite likely having fewer points than both WC teams.

The only thing I would change about the playoff format right now is teams jumping divisions. If both WC teams are from different divisions, just keep the playoffs 1v4 2v3 on both sides. If both WC teams are from the same division, then the stronger leader gets the weaker of the two WC teams. As it stands right now, Washington jumps to the Atlantic and Boston jumps to the Metro.
