I prefer other teams build up divisional rivalries because I'm fed up of every team meeting Montreal in the playoffs becoming a blood rivalry.
forcing rivalries is lame....they need to develop naturally....
Fuck the canes too for trying to make the Caps thing happen so damn hard
And how will they develop naturally as long as divisional opponents play 4x (sometimes only 3x) over an 82 game season then meet in the playoffs 1 or 2 times a decade?
Since the last lockout, heres who the Caps have played in the playoffs:
Rangers x2
Islanders x2
Philly
Pittsburgh x3
Toronto
Columbus
Tampa Bay
Vegas
Carolina
Boston
The reason the divisional format is shit is that it punishes good teams in good divisions. The best team in the conference (and league) should never be drawing the 6th best team in the conference, and the second best team should never be drawing the 5th best team.
i agree
Full crossover playoffs: 1 v 16, 2 v 15 etc etc
Yeah, that'd be the hardest bit. In theory it sounds kinda funny (looking at what matchups would be right now is kind of amusing. also 2006 PTSD for me)
bring back pandemic divisions
fucking Golden Showers, you had one job, Caps

What the fuck lmao
Its old but i dont remember it posted here and everyone needs to see that. I think those prices are more expensive than Canadian market tickets after currency conversion.
They can't even give Coyotes tickets away currently, but they expect broke students in thousands of dollars of debt to pony up more than it costs to see a Leafs game?
lol.
This shit is reminding me of the Chargers playing at Dignity Health Sports Park (Formerly Home Depot Center) while SoFi was being built. Every game was an away game for the Chargers with how hostile the crowds were. I expect the same, if not worse, for the 'Yotes.
You guys are missing the obvious money making. If they can't give away tickets for free, but just ONE person buy a $445 ticket, that's $445 more than the $0 right now. Time to take this big brain logic and apply for an NHL marketing gig.
If anyone wants to watch two shitty teams play wide open hockey, check out the Habs/Flyers.
