Yeah, because if Weber officially retires rather than the balance of his contract on LTIR or on vacation in Robidas Island, the Toothcats gets fuuuuucked for cap because of how that deal worked out when Philly offer sheeted him and Nashville matched. Doesn't matter he's in Montreal now, it falls back on Nashville. lol

So Nashville gets fucked the most if he retires ?

They changed it in 2020, so it's more manageable, but the Preds would be on the hook for 7.85 per year til 2030. Which is still yikes, but not as bad as a penalty of up to 24.5m in 2025 if he retired before contract was done

Found another article saying it would be a 6m cap hit to Nashville and 200k to Montreal until 2026 if he retires early instead of LTIR.

So really I don't think anyone knows for sure wtf would actually happen other than the Preds would eat it the most. Think it changes depending on when he retires compared to when the contract would actually be expiring. So easiest to Hossa him on LTIR forever

Ducks Jets game was a good one. Sadly Ducks can't seem to hold late leads. Two goals in 20 seconds Winnipeg. First one was a snipe by Ehlers. Tonight was first of 4 games in 6 days for the Ducks. Most surprising of all is Thursday with the 4-1-1 Sabres.

I was wondering why the Kings have 3 games in 4 days but two of them are @ St. Louis consecutively with a day gap. And the final game is in LA on Nov 3rd.

And I was almost ready to write off the Kings season if Doughty was gone long term. Only a minor knee sprain from an inadvertent knee-on-knee hit last Friday in Dallas.
