He's taken liberties on players several times in games where he's getting lit up (which happens often because he's dogshit), so hopefully it's a meaningful suspension for him.

I dont see Dell move towards Drake. If you look at where his shoulders and feet are, he doesnt move at all. If Drake was going to continue on his forecheck, he was going to .... maybe not run over Dell .... but they were certainly going to come into contact as Drake cut by him. He braces one arm out. Im not saying a 2 minute minor isn't warranted, its a penalty, Drake doesnt have the puck, but this is suspending for the result of the play rather than suspending for the hit itself being somehow predatory.

You’re right that he has no reason to do what he did, but again, he never moved from his spot. You say he stepped into him. Watch his feet. All of his weight is on his left skate leg the entire time before, during, and after the hit. The collision even causes him to spin on it. For him to be stepping into it, he has to, you know, take a step??

All I see here is a 2 minute penalty and an unfortunate landing. Goalies have this subtle gamesmanship all the time. It’s no different than a goalie coming out to the top of their crease to force a forecheck to post further back from their Dman behind the net, just that subtle “this is my space” mentality to buy their Dmen a pick play

Rakell's got a pretty nice shootout move where he gets stoned by the goalie and then scores on the rebound after he's already lost the game.

Gibson did everything in that game but score a shootout goal himself.
