"the return is shit because its gonna be a late first".
I swear these clowns expect top playoff bound teams to have picks in the top 10.

Honestly I'm with them, it feels like we fleeced you guys bad. We didn't lose a single main roster guy (Tyler Pitlick is an on/off 4th liner for us). 1st round pick will be mid to late 1st round which isn't a bad trade off given that Toffoli has another year and isn't a rental. 5th is a 5th and I guess you guys must be really wanting Heineman???
Honestly feels like we got Toffoli for not a whole lot
Oh fuck we got 2 more years of Toffoli. And we didn't even give up any of our top prospects either
I dont think either team got fleeced, but it wont really be viable to assess for a few years. When we traded Weise/Flash to Chicago for some scrub named Danault and a 2nd rounder, people thought we got fleeced. Turns out Danault was an elite shutdown C and that 2nd rounder became Romanov. Thats not even including the fact that the two players Chicago got were rather ineffective.
Good news is every time you play Vancouver, Toff is good for 2+ points per game.
Yeah it's very much a long term kind of trade for you guys and given your current situation it makes total sense. And Toffoli for us without having to lose a roster piece is huge given our current situation
Toffoli, Markstrom, Tanev and Gubranson all on the Flames now lol

Eichel playing Wednesday
They can keep it as is, but the active roster for any playoff game shouldnt exceed the seasons salary cap ceiling.
Calgary's pro scouting strategy, ask themselves "did this player play for the Canucks recently?" If the answer is yes, sign/trade for them. If no, walk away.
Great trade for the Flames who like they are going to challenge Vegas and Colorado. Since they love reuniting Canucks any chance we can swing a stupid trade like Dube or Valamiki for Pearson.
The “best thing” about toffoli trade is they if flames first rounder is not a top 10 then it gets delayed to 2023
It helps the Flames keep up with Vegas if Eichel goes in and rips it up. Also assuming that Stone's injury lasts til April and just like magic, his Kucherovitis is healed up on opening night of the post-season
Those are the big 2 out of the Pacific
Why would a team agree to reverse protect a pick?? That makes no sense.
Stuart Skinner with first career shutout![]()
Really should have been Marner's goal with Kampf listed as the primary assist.

Because reasons.
I really dont see any problem with it, and I'm not saying that because its something I'd be in favor of. Theres no roster limit, you can still have all your black aces up traveling with the team, you can have all 50 contracted players traveling with you if you want. But come game time, the seasonal salary cap of the active roster for a game consisting of 18 skaters and 2 goalies can not exceed the salary cap of the year. You're still afforded some form of advantage as the healthy scratches do count towards the cap over the year, and with this restriction they do not.
There is a potential issue is assessing the salary cap for performance bonuses, but theres a simple workaround: just focus on the active salary. Theres a cushion in regards to performance bonuses and the salary cap anyways.
