I would absolutely love if Vegas' cap shenanigans with Stone on LTIR get fucked as a result of this trade fuckup and it fucks up their roster just enough that they don't even make the playoffs this season

Did not realize Travis Hamonic was so disliked. Great acquisition by the Sens, lol.

An NHL GM not knowing about him having a NTC but millions of fans able to go on capfriendly and finding this out is peak circus.
I wonder if a player could just make a NTC like “the team has to be in a playoff position at the time of the trade, thats my NTC list”
Canes/Bolts game got kinda spicy tonight. Might be worth watching their next game, next week. Kucherov sorta came unhinged.
Its been almost 48 hours since the TDL and the Dadonov trade is still in limbo.
The trade will almost surely be voided. There's proven correspondence that his NTC paperwork was filed correctly and on time in the summer before Ottawa moved him out, so this is solely Vegas's fault (and the league's for not checking when they approved the trade to Anaheim).
But they gotta help their Vegas boys out, so they're working on a way to make it happen
I didn't realize how royally fucked they are, lol. And any player they try to trade now to make space for activating all their LTIR players is ineligible to play regular season or playoff games for the rest of the season. If they don't make space, they forfeit every game they aren't cap compliant for.

Edit: I don't think there's much the league can do here, if they move him it's a violation of his contract and he'd be able to sue the league.
"After contracting Kucherovitis, we've cap gymnastics'd our way into the playoffs with a full healthy roster on opening night.
Patches, Stone, Martinez, Lehner and Reilly Smith have all been miracle cured to allow them to play on day 1. The wonders of modern medicine!"
Fuck Vegas
If only they were in the habit of actually talking to their players before shipping them out, this all could have been avoided.
It's funny how that's become the sentiment by everyone other than those in Vegas now. Year 1 was crazy like "Wow, look at this underdog team that's meshing so well. The cast-offs are challenging for a Stanley Cup!" to "Fuck these guys" since now they're just like ye olde Yankees trying to buy a championship, but trying to LTIR their way around it. Granted Tampa set that precedent, but still.
That's a nice breakdown Obs. Guess that's what they get for trying to copy Tampa.
Chicago did it first with Kane, but theirs was legit and just fell into their lap. Tampa just blatantly abused it no fucks given.
Kuch being in full contact for 2 months before coming off LTIR, right at the end of the season, was straight up taking a huge shit over the LTIR cap relief.
