the MJ Lebron debate is happening on twitter again and its so weird to me. i cant wait for bron to pass kareem in points and I think it solidifies him at 2, but can we stop comparing him to MJ, jfc

i don't think it's weird at all, though

personally i've thought for a fair while he's established himself as the goat but either way it's uber close, like enough i waffle on it depending on myriad factors i remember or forget. like, what i actually think is weird/nonsense is when laker fans try to say kobe's better than lebron.

Lebron benefited from playing in the east most of his career. I don't think he would have been as successful in getting to the finals if he was on the West most of the time. There's a reason why he has lost as many finals as Jordan had won. They also played in different eras.

Is he on the Mount Rushmore of the NBA? I don't know.

well that's not something anyone can really answer because it's not like you could just transport his cavs or the heat to the west just like that. at best we can say that if lebron were on the west in his prime years, he'd be on a championship caliber team and likely be paired with one of the other western conference goats, and be racking up a buncha finals appearances there, too.

i mean obviously the played in different eras but i don't think that has any bearing on the body of work when looking at someone's career. and yes he would clearly be on the mount rushmore of NBA greats, if such a silly thing were to exist. the only thing that'd be unclear is who the 4th person would be behind him, jordan, and kareem.
