Gonna need to see where Freeman ends up here, but its just a sad situation all around. Getting the feeling now Freeman was asking too much and Liberty made a strictly business decision. That's been expected of Liberty at its core since they took over, and Freeman deserved his due (within reason). Now both take a perception hit in my mind; Liberty for not rewarding the linchpin of a rebuild that delivered on a World Series and Freeman for apparently opting to ignore patterns and advice from Chipper and going for the payday. Liberty takes a big hit with the fanbase, Freeman potentially tarnishes his legacy in chasing paydays over rarified air and sticking with one club. Everyone loses here.

Congrats to Olson, who apparently is a GA native and grew up wanting to be a Brave. Good to have someone who wants to be here if we can't have Freeman.
