Personally felt this season was "how many Easter Eggs can be jammed into each episode?".
Personally felt this season was "how many Easter Eggs can be jammed into each episode?".
I mean season 1 did that too
I thought the last 2 episodes were the best of the bunch personally. Season 1 was definitely better, and this one definitely moved too fast, but I still enjoyed it a ton, and the last episode hit like a truck.
Why would anyone want to live on Genosha at this point they get attacked like every month lol
Ya know while we are comparing season 1 vs season 2
Jean and Charles were borderline gods in season 1, and in season 2 are continuously bitch slapped for the sake of power scaling the villains
I think season 1 was made with uncertainty if it would be renewed so they went HAM telling incredible stories while they could, and season 2 has been “well this would be kind of cool, I guess”
I thought the first two seasons were written together?
Anyways, this season was weaker to me because Apocalypse just isn’t that interesting of a villain anymore. I thought they were gonna do the Gambit, Magneto, etc. as his horsemen and provide something fresh but even that was toned down and rushed.
Still a great watch though
Afaik season 2 was heavily re-written after they fired dudeface to remove his name from the credits.
I've enjoyed what they're doing but I'd be lying if I didn't mention that even I, someone whos never read a single comic and isn't even super attached to the original show, felt like they were just Speed-running what were probably like, entire comic runs in a single episode.
The drop off in quality after episode 4 is pretty steep imo so I am assuming that is where the previous writer was booted
I don't remember if or when it was addressed, but I thought Cable furious with Jean claiming to be his mother, but those last three episodes had Jean referring to him as her son and Cable referring to Scott & Jean as both being his parents when speaking to others.
It was addressed at the end of the last season.
Overall the finale was fine, my issues with it are that last season's fight against Bastion was way more intense and he's a far less important villain, and that I didn't want that death.

I legit did not expect that ending at all.
I thought they were too in our face about the original sacrifice but still did not expect that substitute
As far as I know seasons 1 and 2 were both finished being written before he was fired.

I think Season 2 was mostly written.
