Yeah that's the one I wanted in a 65", that or the Sony AJ80.

I'm still thinking I could pull off a 55" but I think it'll be way too small. We don't really watch a crazy amount of TV, and going from 70 to 55 will be drastic. I always see tvs over mantles and fireplaces being relatively smaller/normal sized so I feel like it'll be fine but the 65 is probably the sweet spot. Just wasn't looking to drop $1800.

Are you in a well lit room? My room is really well lit so I'm also worried about OLED in that kind of lighting.

Dimmer room, but when my blinds are open it can get very bright. A bright room won't affect it a ton, but if you have direct sunlight coming in it will cause some level of washout. Still very viewable.

I almost never harp on people staying with a specific brand, but I really cannot say enough good things about the LG. LG is at the top of every OLED review ever for a reason. I bought one earlier this year and spent more than i am comfortable spending on a TV, but holy crap do i have to say get LG. You'll spend a good hour going through a bunch of menus tweaking the image to your liking, but once its set up holy everloving cripes is it a beautiful set.

Edit: Sorry, i have the LG CX, last years model, not the C1, this years. The C1 is even brighter of a display with a bit better tech. If i'm having no issues you really won't have issues getting a C1.

I haven't seen/used the LG OLED to give any input, but I pulled the trigger on the 55" Vizio OLED last year when it was on sale for $900. I've been plenty happy with it, no issues that have affected me. I typically only use it at night with Netflix/Youtube/PS4. I recall reading that the variable refresh didn't work, but I don't have anything that could take advantage of that yet, it may have already been patched. I may have a bit of bias towards it since Best Buy goofed and sent me a 2nd one which I sold to a friend. Haven't kept up on TVs, but looks like the chip shortage hasn't been kind to them since that exact model is on sale this year for $1000.

I bought the CX-55 last year as a birthday gift for myself. My only regret is not having enough room for the 65" version.

The TV is a beast and actually handles the glare in my apartment really well

I was hoping that Ryzen 5's would have some sort of sale but then I saw the Ryzen 7 5800x dropped by about 100 bucks so grabbed one instead. Picked up a new mobo and cpu cooler and spent the better part of this afternoon tearing apart the old machine. It's not on fire yet so I consider that a win. Windows is very unhappy about it since haven't done a reinstall and just plopped new drivers down but that's a problem for another day.

Yeah, I have zero issues in the daytime with my 65" CX. It isn't going to look it does at 9pm with the lights dimmed to 5%, but it'll still going to far exceed most everything else outside of the super bright high end LEDs during the daytime.

I have the ear bud version, they are in incredible I just wish my ears worked better for that type of bud.

I bought a nest flood light security camera for over my garage.

Was hoping for a 65" OLED for $1500 or less but they are all 1800+, and the 55's are $1300. Don't really want to settle for a vizio but I might. OLED probably a poor choice since it's a well lit room and it's over the fireplace mantle but I don't give a fuck I want OLED.

Another vote for LG, got the 77” CX9 back in March, best looking tv I’ve ever owned. Also in a big well lit room over the mantle, during the day still leaps ahead of any other tv I’ve had, in the evening it’s ridiculous how much better it is. Crappy compressed picture for reference.

That is the other worry though is putting an OLED above a wood burning fireplace just gotta make sure my mantle sticks out far enough and there's enough distance.

It is too high, was going to have the people who did it remount it lower but buying another house in a couple months so not really worth it. I live in Texas so not much use for the fireplace so don’t have to worry about that too much.

Seriously, there's too much furniture built like an adirondack chair.

Had this same issue with height in an apartment in VA, fireplace was only feasible spot to put a TV but it was stupid high up and the cost of a wall mount you could pull out and down was like 5x the cost of the TV lol, so just craned my neck for a year, So glad to have a tv at eye level now.
