It's practically around the corner. Game is probably going gold within the next 2-3 months or so.
Ya I'd say if FF16 wasn't in June they would've been showing off more earlier than this.
Preorder bonuses - Anyone know any others? I see Amazon has a PS5 controller decal, Gamestop has a basic black hat with the game's name (didn't even bother with the full logo), and Best Buy has a steel book that is just the base game cover with Aerith and Tifa in place of Cloud and Zack.
Watching the tgs presentation now too. It's really crazy how much they're adding and expanding in this. S-E really exceeded my expectations significantly. Can't wait for this and very much excited to play asap
Despite being Scottish and learning later on in life that it is pronunced Ket Shee i still called the fucker Kate Sith cause Ket Shee sounds stupid but god damn people are losing their minds, had a brief looking at some of the twitter comments on Square's post and it was like that Square had killed their dog or something, like holy hell people its a fictional character chill the fuck out.

Ya I always pronounced it this way lol
My friend and I were like 12 and thought it was a bug, we changed his name to Cat Sith cause he was clearly a cat and it was just a typo by those silly developers.
I'm not going to lie, as a kid playing FF7, I thought the character was the big Moogle, not a cat controlling the moogle lol
I've always called it that until I got to college and met some weebs who insisted on Ket Sheee and I'm like nah dog I ain't calling it that
I also called her Aeris for many years because that's what it was in the goddamn game despite the weebs calling her Aerith. I'm fine with calling her Aerith now though since they have corrected it in canon releases.
I still call her Aeris because Aerith just sounds like someone saying Aeris with a lisp
I prefer Aeris, I think Aerith sounds dumb. I never knew it was pronounced anything other than Cait Sith, so I guess I'm glad that's being retained.
As with many linguistic flubs of this nature, if you want the romanized world to say your shit the "right way" then you don't word salad things that contradict the rules and act surprised when everyone that reads it says it wrong.
Like, I could maaaaybe get Ket off Cait if you say it really fast and practically make the A silent, making it more like Kit with something akin to a southern accent. Though with C being what it is, there are instances where it could make an S sound. Translating Sith to Shee? Nani the fuck, bro. The H is the wrong place. There's no T. I's may occasionally make E sounds, but you get words like spin or spine that evoke different output. Even if we're trying to play the telephone game of katakana to english, it's just fucking dumb when you can't bother to take the extra step to make it written as sounds.
English is 26 letters and doesn't have specialized characters or utilizes accent markings. Nonetheless, you can still engineer words to sound similar or very close with available combinations.
Trying to read translated Chinese drives me batshit for similar reasons because I guess Zhang is like Jang or X's are Sh sounds and it's just... could we be logical? Because it'd actually make things easier for us to read instead of having to mysteriously know the world's dialects when we can barely teach English in our own schools.
Why are people so bent outta shape over this that this requires a 20 min video lol
not a lot of history readers in the Final Fantasy fanbase i guess, horrifically mispronouncing names internally for decades to eventually get checked upon hearing the word for the first time is a well-honored inescapable recurring right of passage
negro how tf did u just say Dnieper
