I assume he means the story, not that it's an open world.
I'm assuming that was the Mt Nibel flashback anyway. If anything is gonna be a straight path, its gonna be a flashback lol
Yeah I meant the story only. I do not think an open world will be beneficial for this game nor would it work so I hope they do not go down that route. It's fairly barren on the world map (We have midgar, one town, and one farm if we were to take that part of the world and try to expand on it) in general unless they magic up some places which becomes a waste of time/filler and will probably be fairly boring. I rather not do generic hunt/fetch quests nor some made up storyline of a npc stuck in the middle of somewhere.
i hope they get more imaginative with their loading screen equivalents this time. christ on a bike squeezing through 800 hallways was fucking obnoxious
Sony must've bought "just don't put it on Xbox" exclusivity huh.
Rebirth means the Bromance with SEphiroth and Cloud, so they will be party members to fight the evil of the world!
All but confirming with the obvious implications from the original remake's ending.
Thanks, I hate it.
so the dialogue in that trailer maybe implies they deal with Cloud's mental stuff early and start just wondering where Zack went?
between this and FFXVI it's gonna be hard not to buy a PS5 next year... until the delays set in, anyway
edit: I think the thread title refers to FFVII remake possibly? But as of right now, Rebirth is only confirmed for PS5 to the best of my knowledge. Please correct me if I'm wrong
Title says PS5 only for Rebirth
Didn't they address this at some point with Tifa saying she didn't know what to do because she was unsure of how Cloud's mental state would fare if she confronted him regarding the truth? She found him half-dead in Midgard right after he and Zack escaped from Shinra, and he only seemed to become functioning by reconstructing himself with those false memories.
That was my take too, she was scared of what the truth would do.
I'm not reading too much into this teaser, they fucked with players in the first one since they knew what we expected, I fully expect that trend to continue.
Winter 2023 is really ambitious imo, makes me feel like it'll be too on the rails like the first remake. A great one time playthrough but meh on replayability

They started development for FF7Remake in 2015 and it's not like they have to build everything up from scratch for this. A lot of the main character assets being done, and I'm sure they had a planned out roadmap from back in 2015 for all of this, so I would hope they'd already have started production on this (and part 3) to some extent from the get go
