They praise gameplay/battle system and overall exploration while criticizing the plot in general. Aerith part is at the heart of said criticism, the whole issue is incomprehensible in reviewers words.

I really don't understand the need and overall pressure to retake on said part of the game, tragedies are a part of life and not all stories end in a perfect way. I hope they didn't mess it up in Rebirth.

I want to preface this that I am buying the Deluxe edition that has the metal steelbook and such, but those are some high hopes, having just recently playing through FF7R in the last couple of months and how that game ended.

Got an email today that my expected arrival date for my game from Amazon is between March 6th to 19th. This is my curse for wanting a physical copy of the Deluxe edition

Yeah I gave up on the deluxe and just ordered regular for pickup from Best Buy. I remember Amazon screwing me over for Remake but that was partly due to the pandemic

I ended up buying the physical deluxe and then downloaded the regular version too for part 1. But that was mid pandemic and I was desperate for something to do during the days. Fortunately that isn't the case at the moment so I'll just wait and do other shit in the meantime

If it is delayed past the 29th, then I might scope out the nearby bestbuy and GameStop to see if they have extra deluxe editions, and then just cancel my online order ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

All I know is that when I eventually get around to playing this, Im'a do the same thing I did in the original and spend about 30 hours just "grinding" random battles during the flashback because FUCK YEAH I GET TO SEE SEPHIROTH IN MY PARTY AND I FUCKING LOVE FF GAMES WHERE THE ANTAGONIST IS IN YOUR PARTY AT SOME POINT!

Shit was just as cash in FFX when Seymour fought alongside you.

Just sounds like much of the enjoyment of the game is going to boil down to how much you like side-activities to the main plot. They were always going to have to pad things out for this game because its only about 10 hours of actual plot that happened in the original game. Its delicious plot, but there was only so much they could do with it.

It's quite a bit more than that. Leaving Midgar to city of the ancients is probably just under half the story of the entire game.

I fully expect the story to be unintelligible muffcabbage by half way through if not sooner. I'm just hoping for decent fan service. Gameplay is fine based on the demo, better than the first part at least.
