It said during the tutorial for it that the clothes would auto swap back to regular clothes if you tried to leave town with them on, I'll have to double check lol

also it's nice to see there's apparently anti-softlock features, got stuck between a fence and object after jumping it with a chocobo and cloud was falling forever, after like 10 seconds it fixed itself so no reset required lol

at least in costa del sol it lets you wear them out in the field and in combat, it even keeps you in them for some quest cutscenes

My only complaint is the audio balance feels off. Sometimes the music bellows over the dialogue. Dunno if it's on purpose because the music is S tier or if something is just off. I adjusted music volume down to 8 and left others maxed.

Just got to the Junon area, so far it's a big step up from remake in terms of gameplay. There are a couple things that drive me nuts though. First the Voice acting, how is it so comically bad in both EN and JP. I guess 16 set the bar so high that they didn't even bother trying. Second why is there random textures, especially in the rocky area's that randomly look like they are from the N64. They stick out so bad and look so out of place, and only seem to happen in towns and in the rocky area's, the grasslands were fine. Third, why is the ui so overdesigned functionality wise. There's so much superfluous shit to get the menu's you actually need to engage with. Other than those things the game is great, but god damn all of these were not that hard to fix, except maybe the voice acting.

the gameplay, which was the best aspect of 1, is indeed better than ever and absolutely ballin. open world traversal feels p darn good as well and the aesthetics are gorgeous both visually and ost-wise.

but ye the English voice cast is atrocious, i think part of why i bounced off 1 is that even more than the dialogue being extremely uneven the delivery was horrific. i switched the voice cast to French and it's helped a lot, still not great but good enough, prefer the French localization to the English script as well.

I forgot to post it here but I am pretty sure this is that scuff 3D audio that Sony uses on PS5. When the camera moves away from someone who is talking in a cutscene they become inaudible. Idk if there's a way to turn that off or what but it's bad yeah

90% of the exploration is locked behind the story anyways, basically can't complete the whole thing until.
