don't think the writing is good enough to compare to the genre's best side quests, but they have come a loooong way since the days of kill these rats then return to the same location to kill slightly bigger rats. not sure there's a single aspect of this game that isn't improved over Remake.

Performance Mode is definitely worse, but that's it.

i played the PC port and stuttering was soooo common on performance mode it's actually been an upgrade for me but ya, can't wait for the patch to boost it a lil

There were ways around the stuttering in the PC version, but yes the base unmodded game was problematic

agree with chadley annoyance, i realllly wish his post intel talks were at least just all walk-and-talks and not a little cutscene (even though they are short). another very minor gripe is the loading screens in between arena battles feels like it takes just a little bit too long (i think remake was like this too dont remember)

Eh I'm mostly comparing to other ARPGs which is a much lower bar to clear. Even the best Final Fantasy can never clear the best among CRPGs (arguably even mid ones)




If I have any wishes for part 3 in 4 years, they'd be almost entirely centered around character progression. The folio and weapon levels aren't doing it for me. Better than nothing but not by much.

Temple of the Ancients

All world intel is done with the exception of the hard mode versions of the minigames, they all ARE required for platinum so I'll go back and do them post game, otherwise I've been having an absolute blast, 90 hours put into it so far and there's still more to do.

This entire series is a Sequel + "New Game+ with enemy adjustments" so expecting everything to remain the same is silly, especially after what we saw in Remake.

They could've just had something happen with the Turks being there and on vacation or whatever. Wasn't that in the OG?

So far it's worlds better than Remake. As long as it doesn't shit the bed and have some awful fucking dungeon like Hojo's lab. My only other "issue" is I think the game could use some editing with it's side content lol just by like 10 or 15%. Take out 10-15% of the side crap and minigames and maybe expand on character customization/weapon customization.

Man it took me getting to Junon area to realize I could change the Tracker to a Minimap. It's so much better, why the fuck does the game default to the Tracker

End of chapter 2:

The whole Midgardsomr scene. In the OG you have to get a chocobo to cross and the snake is chasing you through the swamp, but once you arrive at the mine, the snake has been killed by Sephiroth. SO HOW IS TEH SNAKE CHASING YOU!? That never made sense in the original game, but the way they did it here makes sense.

I mean I always figured there were multiple snakes because even if you killed one, more would chase you.
