It only really works after she gets thrown around for a while, and the problem is she needs the attention off of her to set up all the wards. Without Radiant Ward her ATB gain is atrocious, and Arcane Ward is key for her high MP playstyle to be anywhere near efficient. It's just not worth it vs. straight up brawling with Cloud or Tifa.

While magic ends up being disproportionately powerful and essential for hard mode, most of the strategies basically revolve around giving Aerith enough starting ATB to command her to set everything up, then switching to Cloud and gaining ATB necessary for him to make use of the Arcane Ward while the AI handles Aerith.

I think I was able to do the crunches faster than the pull-ups from Remake. The minigame that kept throwing me off the most was "Two legs? No problem!" Piano and the 3D Brawler (it's like impossible to tell which move the opponent is using unless you pause cheese to see super distinct frames in the animation)

my friend was stuck on the crunches as 87/88 for the collection, went over and did it first try for him, I dunno what it is but the workout minigames from both Remake and Rebirth were just crazy easy for me, might be my sense of timing and tempo but idk.

You can turn off adaptive triggers in the controller settings and this will make the crunches minigame a LOT easier because you won’t have to do the trigger squeeze mechanic

Wtf Nomura. Kinda annoyed we didn't get a proper Forgotten Capitol dungeon. They could've cut out some of the new stuff and given us more here. Even though Forbidden Temple was really cool and I liked it.

Can't help but feel all the fuckery cheapened the iconic death scene.

Was bad enough having all the whispers during it. Cloud didn't even say his lines. And then you even get to use her in a final nonsensical battle with Sephiroth?? And then no water burial scene. And now Cloud sees her like batman did Joker in Arkham Knight? Meh...

Not to mention I have no idea wtf is going on with both the Black and Holy materia.

I'll see if I feel like doing post game stuff

Water burial missing is 100% going to be in the 3rd game I feel. We're going to see it play out from someone else's point of view and get to see what really happened. The way it's done currently, it feels like it's an intentional jab at the players. "We know you know it happens, but we're not going to show you. Oh, and Cloud doesn't know either." I dunno much about mental illness, disassociation disorders, etc. but my initial "bull shit, don't cut that" reaction has scaled back a lot. I think it's all done to service the narrative that Cloud is absolutely fucked up in the head. So much so, he doesn't even legitimately know that Aerith is dead. In his mind, he saved her, he saw it. She fought with him after, he saw and talked with her at the water's edge, she said good bye and good luck before they took off in the Tiny Bronco. She's fine bro, really. She's stopping Meteor and we're stopping Sephiroth. It's why Tifa and all the others look so disgusted and down because they know she's gone and he's just cool as a cucumber mumbling to himself in the corner.

I've come to kind of like it because the original didn't really convey just how fucked up he was. You got the flashes and the weird poses and stuff, or random nonsensical lines from him. But man, this dude has issues now, and I'm game for it. Still up in the air if it's really Aerith in his head from the life stream trying to comfort him or if it's Jenova/Sephiroth doing extra fuckery. I'm personally on the side of Jenova/Sephiroth going that extra mile to break him.

Cloud is definitely turbo fucked, and it's interesting how they've managed to keep most of the players guessing at how damaged he actually is. It's implied that the Aerith that fights the final battle with you is an Aerith from a separate timeline. She gives you the Holy Materia from her timeline because Aerith Prime's is already drained for whatever reason. Cloud thinks he saved Aerith because he did, in one timeline. As soon as he steps into the whisper tornado where Aerith is, we start bouncing between at least two different timelines. One where he didn't save Aerith (ours), and one where he did (the one that fights with us at the end). I think he completely blocked out the burial scene because he's just so fractured now between the timeline traversals and the actual mental breakdown he's having. What I don't know, or haven't seen speculated, is whether the Aerith he sees at the end is a complete hallucination/denial of reality, or if he's seeing that same Aerith from another timeline that fought the final battle with him. He's seeing the fucked up sky from one of the other timelines so it's not impossible that he might be able to see Aerith from another timeline as well.

I also don't really know how Cloud ended up with the Black Materia again at the end there.

And yes, Aerith's trial scene was extremely sad.

My understanding is that by Cloud and Aerith getting sucked into their bodies in the world that was ending (the one that we've been playing through with Zack), Aerith was able to retrieve a live version of the White materia. I have no idea why the version in the Remake/Rebirth world went clear, but it seems apparent that she would never have been able to summon Holy with it. But by the same token, the Black materia that the party fetched from the Temple of the Ancients was also a dud. Sephiroth says it's merely a key to the real one. So Cloud having the Black Materia in his pocket at the end will be the way he gives Sephiroth the means to summon Meteor, just like in the OG game.

I feel there's no burial specifically because it wouldn't flow with Cloud still being able to see/talk to Aerith. The other popular interp is that Cloud is just seeing Aerith as psychosis and its dissociative, but the fact we play with Aerith in the final fight makes me think that's probably not true. Plus Red senses her at the end.

Red sensing her in the end cutscene could either be him sensing the ghost Aerith that Cloud is seeing, or it could just be him sensing our Aerith in the lifestream, because there's that funny breeze at the same time I think.

Deleting the demo should not also delete the save file. I know this because I had to delete the demo to make room on my HDD for the game, but kept the demo save file.

You do still have to play the first couple minutes of chapter 1 up until you can control Cloud on the hike up to the reactor but then you get the option to skip.

When you start if you get the option to get the bonus items for the demo you'll know you've got it.

I am officially current gen now with PS5 Pro, downloaded FFVIIRebirth and dang, for Leviathan and Ramuh it is asking me to import saves (from PS4 Era). No biggie, they are on cloud all I have to do is to hit download on the original one. But intergrade is on PC and therefore I can't import that save.

So I have to first fully download the VII Remake, Load Intermission, create a save then I can start VIIRebirth. Not to mention, this thing does not have a disc drive so these are all downloads. Man it shouldn't be this hard lol. Just check the damn thing on PlayStation account and reward those that have purchased the game. I mean come on they are not looking for an end game save either just "any" save.

Edit: Apparently I only have the PS4 version of VIIR...which does not have Intermission. OK. I have PS Deluxe and it's free up there, so I have to re-download the entire VIIRemake (PS5 version) now.

I really hope these 2 ****ers worth all this hassle.
