lol let's call it a "tactical retreat", Napoleon style on Fort Condor :D You guys are gonna make me get back to it on hard mode.
Recently done with Gold Saucer and hot damn it is awesome, highlight of the game so far. The presentation was top notch, I don't think they could've made it better by being this loyal to the original.l I've enjoyed every bit of it, along with character development of not only mains but also Palmer, Elena, Rude and all. Can't wait for the rest.
I've absolutely enjoyed Erdtree but some 40 hours into Rebirth and this remains my top candidate for GOTY this year. Afaik Rebirth sales didn't make up for the costs, hoping to see series going multiplatform and maintain this level of quality.
Coming to PC January 23, 2025
So just at 11 months to go from PS5 to PC. At least they got it out faster than FFXVI.
I should have waited. Still at the entrance to gongaga with no motivation to finish it. Could have played with epic graphics instead

Have to admit I am not the biggest fan of Gongaga region lol. After exploring the region a bit instinctively I couldn't help the allure of meeting Cid and went ahead with the story...holy hell what an awesome introduction of Cid. He is 1000x better presented in Rebirth than the OG.
Now, back to Gongaga to satisfy the completionist in me.
That's funny because most people seem to hate this happy go lucky Cid
The real question is if he stills beats Shera while reminiscing about Ilfana
I stalled here myself too as I was beginning to feel drained being completionist, so from this area/zone I beelined for the ending of the game. I do remember being surprised by the sudden slightly swapped introduction of him here but none the less it was pleasantly interesting.
Half hoping this is just a charade as a means of copium and then later on when we get him to open up classic Cid will return haha
No
Yeah gonna overheat my steam deck
the fuzz also looks like it would intefere with ease of play by blocking buttons lol
Some 80 hours into the game and I am bit sad that I am coming to the end of this epic game. I absolutely love the side quests system and overall size of the world, allows progression and a good bit of exploration in quick playing sessions. Shocked to see comments like "bloated" on reddit.
And Cloud is much better written in Remake/Rebirth (honestly can say this for every character). Been damn long since I last played the original but in remake, rather than a jerk his character is warm, emotionally intelligent but distant; which actually makes him likable.
At least I've got FFXVI lined up.
Hey, you did it in the same order as me: Rebirth and XVI.
......I'm sorry.
I don't get it
I liked both, but going back to ff16 after Rebirth was rough.
I guess I can understand. I played XVI on PC for a bit and absolutely loved the style, battle system, story but I am on the 2nd Gold Saucer visit in VII and...yeah, I don't think anything I'll play next can top this at the moment.
Slight Gold Saucer spoiler below
