    I didn't actually find Cait too bad. A little clunky at times but at least interesting. All Barrett's skills are different variations of "shoot my gun arm while strafing slowly", and his "talent" or whatever they were called just being an active reload was kinda lame. Perfectly good character, just very boring to me.

    His tank abilities are pretty solid. But again, I think I only really used them for the Sephie Rulers of the Outer World fight. But even in that fight they made a pretty significant difference for me

    Honestly? If Expedition 33 had released 6 months earlier, maybe. By the time the FFVII devs met with the E33 devs I think they were too far along in the game design to make that big of a change to the battle system. Although technically Cloud already has a parry mechanic..but I never really used it. Just Elden Ring fat roll all the time.

    Also I feel like it'd be kinda crazy to scrap the FF7 battle system and change it that much. They can use whatever they learned for FF17

    It was just a joke lol, I do not see them doing anything like that honestly. What I can see them doing is adding mid combo team ups. Like building upon character teams ups so in the middle of attack combos or chains you can tag in another chacter to continue with gaining a buff or something.

    If they learn anything from E33, I hope it's that the over world map can be like the pre-ps2 style. Of course they won't do that for FF7 part 3, but for FF17 or the mythical 9 remake or etc

    Didn't all of them have parry if you timed a block just right? Cloud just had an actual counter ability he could pop I think. Timing was super specific on regular parries and attacks are no where near telegraphed enough to do it without practice but I definitely remember parries being a thing.

    There's a Parry materia I think. Cloud is the only character with a free one through his character ability though. Pretty sure Red also has a learned ability that acts as a counter.

    Yeah there is a guard for all characters, but if you guard at the right time it is a parry.

    Cloud's punisher form counter-attacks melee attacks. I don't think there is even a timing requirement for this.

    There were also team-up abilities that can act as parries/counters for the right moves. Like the two-person synergy moves that are specifically counters to long range or short range attacks. But it's like Wobbuffet you have to use the correct counter at the correct window.

    did any of my paisans rock this on PC? cuz even blowing past the specs and hitting 120 FPS consistently the UE stuttering is uh not good

    From what I can vaguely remember, disable dynamic resolution and also disable REBAR with nvidia profile inspector

    There may have been some other tweaks, but as far as I can remember I was able to get it playing ok aside from unavoidable traversal stutters.
