This is how it should be. To their credit, they made Tifa the strongest and fastest physical attacker and she wrecks shit when played well. Reducing her to a slap fight would be incredibly lame

Since they *probably* aren’t gonna let you carry over Materia from previous titles, and Cloud and Aerith are gone for most of the game, I think it kinda lines up they would introduce the dress sphere type system so any character and assume any role type.
