Also getting the flu sucks, being sick as hell for like 5 days is bad, getting the flu shot is free and easy
I only get the flu shot because I have young nieces and nephews to visit during the holidays. Otherwise I would skip. Hell the first one I got in a long long time was the bad 2017 shot that i mentioned.
Okay but none of y'all got it regularly during your youth?

I used to get the flu shot in college pretty religously. When I moved home, started getting it every year once I found out that my sister had 'mune problems; even tho she's gone I decided to get the flu shot anyway. Neko doesn't believe in flu shots so never gets one, the idiot. Me, since I know the nieces and nephew will be over at least once, I don't want the flu, and I figure even if the flu shot doesn't bat 100% in preventing it, it's better than no chance. ^^
I just didn't want to get the covid booster and the flu shot together, that's all.
Just got the bivalent booster today. I've been getting the flu shot the last ~5 years because Publix was giving a $10 gift card for having it done there. And why turn down free money? They stopped this year though.
Got bio booster last Friday. Took me out completely for all of Saturday. Fatigue/chills/random fever/headaches but Sunday I was good. Last booster didn't hit me nearly as hard but probably still had a good amount of antibodies in me
I never got the flu shot til I started working in EMS
I'm shocked. Shocked, I say.
I never got a flu shot till I had an infant or elderly parents living with me. Now I get it every year.
i have never gotten a flu type thing outside of one time when i stood under a waterfall in new zealand and my dry clothes were a 4 hour drive away
but that is more of a self induced cold/fever. basically im calling u a bitch
negative, not once in my life. my dad only ever got his first flu shots when he was going through chemo
I never got flu shots at a youth, adolescent or adult. I've had the flu like 3 times max.
My wife and I have been getting our flu shots every year for the last 10 years since our first kid was born. Still get it as our youngest is 2. With two kids in school they constantly bring stuff home. School is a cesspool. We actually have been getting sick less since COVID though as our two older kids are relatively good about wearing masks and washing hands.
A big reason why I regularly get the flu shot is because I'm around immunocompromised family members often. I haven't had any adverse affects thus far, so I'll probably stay continuing to get the shot going forward. I got mine last week with just very minor soreness on my arm.
