Iceland is no less "magical" now than then. I don't or at least try not to accumulate shit, but I like the little "Iceland" bottle opener on the fridge.
Is it a piece of shit made of cheap soft metal so that I don't use it for it would wear away to nothing? Sure, but it has a little puffin on it, and that's enough for me in the mornings.

My buddy is from Iceland and lives in a metropolitan area of the south. I asked him if he is going to leave it after a recent life event, and he said no. Went to visit his newborn nephew in Iceland and by the end of it came the "a week ago I wasn't thinking of moving to Iceland."

my wife was vaxed and boosted and covid put her on her ass for three solid weeks. is still dealing with fatigue and lung funk. i would not really describe this as 'no big deal.'

for me, it was definitely no big deal, even with the whole host of underlying bullshit i have.

tl;dr: i would not fuck around and find out, personally.
