Don't go to work sick fuckboys.
You're not a team player like Billy in AR unless you come in with a 104 degree fever, champ
I'm only half joking with that being a mentality. Covid is now smashing my work's head office because earlier in the week people that were sick still showed up because "Gotta have things wrapped up for year end!"
Waiting to see how bad it gets because they also just had their holiday party and can't miss out on free food and booze!
I don't actually have a fever. They tested that at work before sending me home.
We never ran a fever with ours.
My family made it four years without anyone in the house getting sick but our 5yo just tested positive this morning. Fuck. The power was out all day on top of that. Here's hoping that none of the rest of us get sick in the next 2-5 days. We are all fully vaccinated though the 5yo and the 3yo haven't gotten their boosters yet.
Got my second round of it from my mother who visited last week. She's already fine and I'm through the worst of it.
My old firm didn't penalize for sick days, but did offer an award for anyone who worked a full year (sans vacation). It was spearheaded by just one guy. Once he stepped down from the board the entire company received unlimited sick days, and the award was removed.
Terrible policy turned good.
My work doesn't do sick pay. This is a 5 day vacation with no pay.
That's fucked up
That's also bullshit. I can't believe employers get away with that.
But moral hazard tho
It’s always so weird to me when americans argue about sick leave. We have unlinited days in Sweden and I believe most of Europe. If you’re you’re sick, being out of sick days doesn’t change that and just puts you and others at risk. It’s absurd to me.
