i'm gonna get the boosters regardless... statistically they just aren't helping a ton in canada
also boosters have only been in canada for a grand total of 4 weeks so i dunno where that alberta data is even coming from... that's 2 weeks of potential data and cases have literally never been higher in this country, and that includes before the vaccine ever existed
i have to give myself injections twice a day. it sucks, but it's better than being ded.
damn yall dudes wild i donate blood semi-regularly and always kinda liked seeing the blood shoot out of my arm. big ol ez veins though imagine getting stabbed repeatedly would blow.
I remember my mom telling me about all the practice they had to do on each other when she went back to school for phlebotomy. Can’t remember how many sticks it was. Something like 60 iirc. That would be hell.

The vaccines lose efficacy over time, so that 3% dataset could have received dose #2 anywhere between 2 weeks prior all the way to something like 6 months prior. My dose dates are early July and mid-Aug, and I wasnt rushing out to get either one (that whole needle phobia I covered). 3% chance to catch covid with an old stagnant double dose or 0.8% with a fresh booster. I guess its "just a shit ton of breakthrough cases"? Where is the line between "its a shit ton of breakthrough cases" and "the current vaccine in circulation doesnt seem to be as effective against Omicron"?
btw, I just confirming I have this right. 10,314 infections (A) over 1,218,194 boosted people (B). The formula to turn that number into "cases per 100,000 people" would be A/(B/100,000)? It seems right to me.
i too have been told i have lovely veins for drawing, i feel freshened after a blood draw. get this stuff outta me
I didnt even feel mine but both times the people before/after me made an audible bitch noise and said it hurt lol
second to tetanus actually
TIL
Before the vaccine was available my PC Doc wanted me to get the newer pneumonia vax they have now and a flu shot. I agreed to the pneumonia and figured I would wait about a week to go and get the flu shot. Before I knew it the nurse came in and gave me both.. one in each arm. For the next few days I would have taken morphine if you had given it to me. >.>
