Used to get blood drawn once a month in my young teen years to watch for liver problems- you get used to it eventually.

I had to recently get cortisone shots injected into my lower back and THAT was something else. I watched the doctor get the needles ready and I still wasn't prepared for the "slight pressure" of a massive needle penetrating my ligaments.

I still have significant smell loss and a decent amount of congestion about 7 weeks post-infection but wouldn't really call that long covid. The congestion could just be due to low humidity though. I need to get some humidifiers.

I've seen some shit working fire and EMS for half my life, watching my wife get an epidural was one of the hardest things I've ever had to witness.

The second baby came out within 30 minutes of arriving at the hospital so thankfully there was no time for that.

this feels like a bizarre take from a psychologist considering the fear of needles is listed in the dsm

Considering the 1st line treatment for specific phobias is exposure therapy, "get the fuck over it" isn't a far cry from the actual therapy.
