People want to pretend that the Jan 6th insurrection was no big deal, being blown out of proportion, etc, at the same time they consistently forget that multiple people were injured and killed, a cop was murdered, multiple more cops are now dead by suicide, and live pipe bombs were discovered. Idk how much more danger and loss of life would need to happen before people stop pretending like Jan 6th wasn't a big deal.

The guard being eventually called in and no counter-protestors being present that they needed "defending" against, plus staffers making sure there was no loss of continuity on the electoral results chain of custody, stopped J6 from being a success.

And San Francisco county/city has been able to do whatever they want because they have such a high fully vaccination rate (80%+.) They already went back to pre-omicron levels of masking 2 weeks ago iirc.

The surrounding counties (Orange, Riverside, SB, Ventura) are likely to go with the state's guidelines and be back to pre-omicron policies. LA has been masked up since Delta's surge in late June 2021.
