Man they really are, double the raw daily case count of the US on an opposite direction with only ~21% of the population.![]()
US new cases at the lowest level since July 19th 2021 - the rise of Delta.
Got sick last week and it felt like a very bad cold. Went to the urgent care on Friday and got a COVID test, it was negative. I started feeling better on Monday and went back to work. We ge tested weekly and on Wednesday I tested positive. So stuck at home quarantining. I feel ok just feels like I am still recovering from a bad cold. Thankfully it was mild overall, and thanks to the vaccines that very likely made it mild. I have a student who’s out of school atm because her father isn’t going to make it from COVID. He’s been in the hospital since January, but they recently told the family he’s not going to pull through. Fuck COVID.
This isnt the “next wave”, this is still the same omicron wave, just with “lol omicron is mild who cares drop all mandates covid is over” on top of it
Who will win: 1 smol Omicron virus vs. Sinovac vaccine that provides ~0 protection against Omicron
Thanks Obama.
Sorry it's been a while, did I do that right?
So China is just having their omicron wave now right?
That and the fact the government knows that Sinovac was trash and conveys nearly zero protection against infection. They'll never admit that though.
Either that or they have the next variant already and it is mean.
i said this before but more people became infected with covid (omicron) in january of 2022 alone than all of 2020 and 2021 combined. and 3/4s of that time period covid vaccines didn't even exist. that's just reality
have yall just tried ignoring covid
The problem being, that doesn't matter to China, who wants to maintain zero COVID indefinitely. Their vaccine has to be sterilizing or nearly sterilizing or it doesn't fit their strategy at all.
And yes, Sinovac is shitty against severe outcomes too. It's better than nothing, but here's an easy chart to help:
New Zealand opened up when they predicted they would be protected, cases or not. That has proven correct - they used Pfizer.
