Ontario (where Biebs was born) implemented the chickenpox vaccine in 2004 for 1 year olds.
I've had a lot of shots given to me in grade-school, chickenpox ain't one of them.

Damn Canada is fuckin 3rd world lol
This is the mandatory immunization list required to attend school in Ontario:
- diphtheria
- tetanus
- pertussis (whooping cough)
- polio
- measles
- mumps
- rubella
- meningococcal disease
- varicella (chickenpox) – required for children born in 2010 or later
Damn there's like 4 more here in California
Buncha plague moose
like byrthnoth said, we don't produce any vaccines up here at all. we rely on yall and then there's the canadian red tape it needs to go through on top of whatever murican red tape is involved
The current iteration of the shingles vaccine works pretty well and I recommend getting your parents to take it / yourself when you qualify. TBF I don't entirely know why it is recommended after 50. Sure Shingles is more common and more devastating in the olds, but young people under stress get it with some regularity too. One of my cousins had an outbreak when she was 18 or something.

It's recommended after 50 because it's more likely to happen after 50 and it fucking hurts.
Shingles hurts or the vaccine hurts?
(I know shingles hurts but that factoid wouldn't make sense to restrict the vax to 50+)
@Kuro That's what I said, but not what I was confused about.
Anyway, my wife's grandmother had a bad shingles outbreak (pain radiating to the face) and it seemed to substantially hasten her descent into senile dementia. She basically never came back from it mentally. Your parents should all get the shots.
Shingles wasnt that bad when I had it. The IV in my arm/hand for 3 days pumping meds twice a day was a lot more painful.
I really need to get the shingles vax.
When I was young I had the worse case of chicken pox my pediatrician and my mom had ever seen or heard of. It covered my entire body. There was not a inch of skin that didn't have a spot including my scalp and the bottom of my feet.

I want that Lyme disease vaccine. that one has been available for dogs for a while but not humans
Used to a human version too but a BS panic around side effects and anti-vax sentiment killed it in 2002.

There's a new one in phase 3 trials though.
