Posted here many times before, I've been exposed to several situations where infection was near inevitable both during Delta and Omicron times. Either I was extremely lucky, or boosters really do a good job at protection. Getting my second booster (4th overall) next week.

That said, I am past the point where I was angry at anti-vaxers. Back in the day it was an issue of public health, nowadays its just personal decision.

Edit: Nynja has an undestandable stance on 4th dose, I've also read reports about its benefits not being as sound as 3rd dose especially if you've had infection before and/or not in the high risk group. Not getting vaccinated is irresponsible but beyond 2+1 is completely a personal choice after this point.

My company pays us for getting the vaccine and boosters so if they pay for booster 2 (#4 overall) I’ll still get it even if the benefits are “modest” as they say. Modest is better than less than modest.

Everyone is sick around us right now. Shit sucks. We were trying to let the kids have fun at summer camps and also maintain our sanity at home of not having two hyper boys running around but so many kids are getting sick all over the place. Our boys are both vaccinated and good about wearing their masks but it sure is stressful. Also lots of sick employees at my wife's work. Only 3 or 4 of them left which is the bare minimum to keep the business open. We really need to get our daughter vaccinated but no one has the under 5 doses in stock yet.

He didn't say 4th dose. He said "vaccine and boosters". The implication here is that there is no need to get either, which is such an incredibly stupid and selfish stand that I feel no remorse in calling him the dumbest motherfucker in the thread.

The thread went thru this like a month ago, but basically this. Rhyis and nynja are not incorrect if they ONLY said boosters are less effective than they used to be, but the same data they love to point to also shows wildly different health outcomes between the unvaxed and vaxed, and they will walk up and down the street pretending that that isn't because of vaccines.

Neither of us have said vaccines are bad. Im 2/2, i believe hes 2/2+1. The data youre referencing are Archis charts that show vax vs unvax. Our argument is “your charts are fucking stupid because theres no data about boosters in there”.

Pfizer said they were expecting by March back in January. I think they missed it.

Honestly, at this point, it’ll likely be optimized for BA.2 and the dominant strains at the time of its release will laugh at it.
