Because of the shit with HIV thanks to Reagan, I do worry about stigmatizing the LGBTQ+ community with another "homosexually-transmitted illness" I worry equally about not notifying them about the dangers of it.

Basically, responsibly taking precautions as archi mentioned is akin to wearing your mask for COVID and isn't much to ask, but it's irresponsible to say that it's the only method of spread.

If you keep classifying it as primarily spread through sex we've now got ammunition that gay men fuck kids. It's summer, we're in the midst of a global heat wave and people are in close proximity to each other as this is the first summer in two years restrictions are relatively low or non-existent because of Covid. Is it spread through sexual contact? Yes. Is it only spread through sexual contact? No. Framing it as the former is a poor choice.

Cities and citizens are having to fight to get miniscule amounts of the vaccine when there is no shortage. It's pretty homophobic and was only classified as a world wide issues by the WHO once women and children started popping hot.

I absolutely agree with this approach.

I'm not arguing about what could happen if the idiot media keeps pushing the "HAY NOTHIGN TO WURR BOUT IT GAY ONLY" much like COVID with the "only affects people with medical comorbidities" bullshit.

One was provably wrong, albeit by a technicality, as the morbidities increased mortality and risk.

It's still irresponsible to avoid saying this is spread primarily by sexual contact, because it is. It's not specific to homosexual (which does increase the risk) versus heterosexual intercourse. The problem is inherent in the media reporting one versus the other, which makes the narrative easier to shift.

If they had reported, for example, that unvaccinated people had a 4-5x increase in risk of death if they contracted COVID-19, it may have shifted the narrative toward responsible vaccination and the need to minimize risk. Instead, they made it seem as though only old or sick people were at risk and that 99% of people were fine and not at risk. It then shifted to narrative toward "why bother vaccinating at all", resulting in the deaths of substantially more people.

Nah, it's the opposite. See, legalizing gay marriage keeps non-cheating same sex couples only fucking each other, thereby preventing the spread amongst unmarried, multiple partners. I see this as an absolute win!

Tested negative today. Been exactly two weeks since I got Covid. I still have a lot of sinus drainage that makes me cough sometimes and my left ear feels stopped up but I feel so much better. Man that was awful.. I can't even tell you. >_<
